I have removed HL/dod/NS but in add/remove programs is still says NS is installed and I cant get rid of it. I want it gone before I reinstall. Go to Run on your start bar and type regedit
1) click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2)Scroll down until you see the key named Software
Once in software you will see two key names "Sierra-Online"
3)Delete both of these keys
Next moveup a key HKEY_CURRENT_USER and click it. Scroll down and locate again a key named "Software".. Once here scroll down to the key named "Valve" and delete it..
This should do it... Reboot........ _________________ http://www.nosmacktards.com |

I delete tons of registry keys with no luck until some dude in the NaturalSelection channel hooked me up with this link.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;314481
Thanks for the help though it definantly got me headed in the right direction.
Also backing up is for the weak. If she crashes I get a nice clean fresh install. _________________ All comments are not nessasary those of the author so should not be taken as so.

I've had my machine for a year and a half now and haven't reformated yet. I know it needs it bad but I don't wanna go thru all the trouble of setting everything back up that I want on the machine. One of these days I'm gonna break down and do it. _________________

There is really nothing to it BRN, I can format my system and have it backup in 3hrs max that is including my games. What I suggest is formatting your system first. Most new Hard Drives come with their own Formatting software since most operating systems like Win98, Win Me ect won't recognise drives larger than 2gigs.
After you format go ahead and setup the # of drives you want<Size depends on the drives capacity>
I personally create 3 drives C: Games D: Graphics & Graphic Software E:Host a copy of your OS here to avoid needing your Win CD everytime it needs something. I have a 20gig HD. C:\ 16989 D:\2988 E:\476,782
I use win98se which only needs 121megs but I like this to be bigger for those secret files of woman that I don't want my girlfriend to find and my passwords ect..
That's all their is to it

Well if it's slowing down I would say it's time.
