I need someone to walk me through the process of building the special weapons. I know after the engineer builds the half-transparent thing, someone needs to touch it to upgrade it. But how does the engineer build the transparent thing in the first place? I've been told to type "buildspecial" in the console, but nothing happened when i did that. I'm missing something please please help. |

First off, the mgs will only build on the ville 2,3,4. Type buildspecial in the console, if that doesn't work try _special2.
Once you have completed this ask for someone to touch your multigun, the upgrades are as follows:
Pyro, Soldier: Missile Launcher
Scout, Spy: Tesla coil
Demoman, heavy weapons guy: grenade launcher
Sniper: Laser guided missile
Multiguns can detect spies and can take 2 times more punishment than a lvl 3 sg.
If you build a dispenser, you can have a medic upgrade it into a health-giving dispenser.
Snipers can build anti-missile launchers that shoot down enemy rockets by typing builspecial in the console. A sniper can shoot laser guided missiles out of his anti missile launcher by typing _special2 in the console while charging up his sniper rifle.
Scouts and spies can call airstrikes by typing _special2 while looking at the sky.

Great explanation!!!!! just a couple more things.
1.)You must have 50 armour to build mg's
2.)You can destroy you mg by typing detspecial in the console
3.)Announce where you placed the mg
4.)Try to thank the person who upgraded you
5.)A cool feature to use is the sg cam view, no matter where you are on the map you can view the game through anybodys sg on your team. the commands are:
+sgcam
sgcam_switch

Very good explanation. Only 1 thing I can add.
It is much better to bind a key to these functions rather than spend time typing them in the console all the time. In the console you can type
bind x buildspecial
bind y detspecial
where x and y are any key you want to use for these tasks. From then on it is a simple keystroke to build and explode.
you can also bind a key to airstrike if you play scout or spy much. |

i thought for spies and scouts to do there airstrike you look to the sky and type
airstrike in your console, thats how i do it

I would recommend binding the special close to your ten key pad. There are many instances when speed really counts in dropping those mgs.
If you build an mg against or on someone, they will be stuck. However they can destroy it.
Anyone can destroy an mg, even your team.
You can't repair or refill it. It has endless ammo.

OK, still trying to get the automatic-drop-the-mg thing down. I tried typing "bind x buildspecial" That didnt seem to work. I tried "kp_ins _special2", with no affect at all. What am I doin' wrong? |

hmm....did you have 50 armor? were you on the ville 2,3 or 4? If not you might want to try again. If you did have 50 armor and were on an ntf server, I have no idea what could possibly be the problem, sorry.

If you tried "kp_ins_special2" thats your problem. You need to type
bind "kp_ins" "_special2"
or maybe you messed up on your message and typed it wrong. who knows, defintly not me.
