For the most part when a warning is thrown up in DOD then a valid effort is made by the regs there to even the teams. I don't get the same support in TFC. My reasoning for saying something isn't because I don't like a challenge it is because people are leaving. I have seen many regs, including myself, leave because of this. I won't be leaving these games anymore. I will be doing what I can to even the teams. Even if it's something as simple as changing the map. The stacking may not be intentional but when warnings are put up and nobody changes teams to even the game up then it may as well be intentional. _________________

In terms of team stacking due to skill in DOD it doesn't bother me. I only start to get upset if it is like 5 against 8 and it is so obvious that one team is just being destroyed. As far as clans comming in and forcing their way onto either axis or allies that doesn't really bother me as well. It only makes me try harder to beat the people in that clan and prove that people who play on the ville are great players. Most of the time though in DOD when i call for TEAMS to be evened or i see one of the admins call for it people are kind enough to come on over to the less populated team. Perhaps this note was more in refrence to TFC not DOD. |

Here's why it's being discussed.
1 - The admins have talked about it in all of the mods.
2 - Some admin migrated over to DoD and NS.
3 - It's my responsibilty that competitive games and a good enviornment are present on TV's TFC servers since that is what I play.
4 - I've been observing and ending maps early if I feel there is no reason to continue a slaughter. It's no fun for either team unless you like stomping on someone.
5 - I'm not implicating anyone directly as of now. There's been some good rounds and some really bad ones. I'm not talking about where it's 9v8 and the 8 has the uber team. The new player has no choice. I'm talking about team selection at the beginning of the map.
I like just about everyone who plays at TV1. I'm still an admin though to make sure the server stays where it should with rules. I can't show favoritism to any TVB, NJK, or PWG member just because I am/was affiliated with them.
Lastly the server has been pinging better to Vegas. I'm not sure if Danno tweaked it or the bad hop was fixed. TY if he did. Either way it's down to the 80-95 from the 105-120 range. Anyone else get any improvements on TV1? _________________ Yes, I'm still around

U could always get more admins or make some of the admin features avaliable to non admins for when there is no admin around. As far as I know frag is the only ville 1 admin I ever see. But I think mike is also a admin there. I dont know of any other admins for tv1 if there is more then those 2 then I never see them do anything. _________________

In most cases, I think that any team stacking is random chance--but in some cases it is obvious, and definitely not fun.
Several nights ago I was playing late (couldn't sleep) and there were 4 players from one clan (didn't recognize the clan) and myself playing on TV1. When the map changed all 4 joined the same team and I was stuck with bots (got creamed). Next map change--same thing.
Intentional team stacking does occur, and in such circumstances should be dealt with appropriately. _________________

If one is called a team stacker, is that person considered leet because he/she stacked the teams? Or does it take a few leet people to stack teh teams? But how do you know whose leet or not _________________ I like you---that's why I'm going to kill you last.

Maybe I just play at odd times but everything seems fine to me. Besides doesn't evryone like to root for the under-dog.
In my opinion the opposite is worse...who wants to play a game where there is no challenge and you just roll over the opponents. Might as well play against the slow bots on TV3. _________________ I put on my robe and Wizard's hat!!! HARRRRR |

I agree. That is teamstacking. That doesn't happen here in TFC. That's why the accusations really bug me. |
ROLF yes it happens all the time Anyways right on Frag good deal Your point :I'm talking about team selection at the beginning of the map ; is exactly what I brought up and is outright team stacking and makes for a bullshit game every time it happens. The very few times I get in at the beginning of a game on a map change (ie my old PC) you see all the people with low pings (good PC's and connections) all swarm to one team. For example there will be 6 people that connect at the very start of the map 5 or even 6 of them will all go one one team. Now considering that a good PC and a good ping make a huge difference in how well you can play online games there is a huge possibility that that team will win every single time.Done ranting on this topic I'm just glad that Frag has stepped forward and plans on doing something about it _________________

Blood...pressure....rising
I'm not sure you're really familiar with a clan that teamstacks. I used to be in clan Last Line of Defense (LLD). They were a common teamstacking clan. We were told to always join blue when we pubbed together so we could have more time learning to cooperate with each other. They would do whatever it took to make sure they were on the same team, and dominating was always the goal. That scenario is what I refer to as teamstacking. Sorry Bada, but no regular clans here do that. If we're all on the same team, it was unintentional, no matter how much you believe otherwise.
**Note** I never pubbed with them. I always came here.

KRG, I love you man. Always enjoy hearing from you.
It certainly isn't a trend. That's why I stated an admin switching the teams up is not a bad idea. Positive admin involvment is always applauded. Frag's intial post sounded like he was going to start laying the smack down any hint of a stacked team. I ph33r frag's whip. _________________

That's the perfect solution right there. Downgrade your own skill and have some fun. Team stacking only bugs me when there is obvious overkill of leetness.
Like those marvelous games of Acropolis when your team has a Pyro and Spy on defense, and the other team has half a dozen bunny-hopping/conc-jumping league players running around in your flagroom crowbar fighting each other waiting for the flag to pop up.
That's exagerrating, but you get the idea. If you join a game where your team is already up by 150 points, do you really need to lay on some 1337 offense of your own? That's the kind of game where I bust out some Pyro, or some n00b Sniper action. _________________ I'm not internationally known, but I'm known to rock the microphone. |
