Hey folx, here is a submission for you down and dirty Windows techies:
My machine often gives me a message about low virtual memory and how the minimum setting is too low. This usually occurs after it has been sitting all night. The next morning I wake it up and BAM there is the error message. I am running a screen saver that uses mathmetical calculations to plot the moon's course across the earth's sky. But the computer sleeps after an hour of inactivity.
Should I change my Virtual Memory to a higher value and if so, does it need to be a certain value, like a number divisible by 16?
My Machine: 1.2 Ghz
196 RAM ( I am ordering more RAM as I post this)
(1) 30 Gig partitioned HD (15/15)
(1) 8 Gig HD
OS -of course- Windows 2000 Pro
thanks! _________________ JohnCarter, Warlord of Mars

The basic setting for VM should be one and one half times the size of the RAM installed.
Personally I turn off the Green settings (power) of my PC _________________
