I disagree with the making fun of things that are better. I think we poke fun cause ... its funny ? The way they say how a boot it ey and stuff. Secondly I think can take tom green and a few of those others. Maken cash off of maken fun or messen with other people seems a bit bastitchish.

I seriously think most Canadian criticism is tongue in cheek since Canada is pretty similar to the U.S. in many ways. Folks up there do seem more laid back and identify more strongly with their national culture, which is cool. I enjoyed it tremendously when I visited Toronto, years ago. But I found a lot of good natured U.S. bashing to return the favor of our Canada bashing.
At the risk of making the U.S. look bad, I had an embarassing moment in Canada when I looked at a gas station sign. The price of gas astonished me! It was sooo cheap. I was all ready to rent some sort of fuel truck and start an import/export business bringing it back to the states, until I realized it was the price in litres not gallons. DOH! Thank god, I didn't actually stop to buy any. They'd still be laughing at me, eh?
By the way, does anybody follow the Canada bashing thread in the letters to the editors of Computer Gaming World? They get pretty harsh, but it can be kind of funny.
And I think someone spoke too fast earlier about allowing you Canadians to keep Shania Twain. I'm no big country music fan, but I'd like Shania to stay right here, thank you.

See now Rata's sign should say
"Jesus died for our...Tim Horton's"
That's as Canadian as Molson's, Rush, Trooper, or Hockey

Canada sucks on General Principle, not for any specific reason.
My friend and I regularly poke fun at canada for being america, only colder, cleaner, and less fun. Oh, and then theres the whole french people...what the hell is that all about? I mean, we all know how bad the french are.
And, in all honesty, I'm sure canada is a fine country, and I'm sure all you canadians are nice people, but I am an American, and therefore I make fun of canada, no animosity involved, I just do it for fun.

I make fun of many countries and so do my friends. Doesn't mean we hate 'em or even know anything about them. It's just plain fun to see what you can come up with.

Canada...It's Beauty, Eh? Sleeping Giant Provincial Park is pretty cool. As is Thunder Bay. Toronto has some sweet electronic music events going down up there too.
But that French Province has got to go...

Well I am not going to bash something that I know nothing about firsthand since I never been there. I've only met one smart ass engineer from there who I was in a clan with years ago. but besides that one incident everyone from there seems to be really kicked back. Hey and don't forget The Fonz from Happy Days? Eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've heard stuff like we are going to war with Canada as soon as their only Aircraft Carrier comes back to port from fishing. Save the Whales,Kill a Canadian!
I am sure every country has its faults but that does not mean all it's people are like
that. Atleast they don't sneak over our border by the thousands each year stealing our
jobs or adding to the poverty issues like 2 countrys that will remain anonymous that I
know of.

Well us Texans probably make fun of Mexico( and people from Kansas City) more than Canada, because we feel they are our little brother. The reason Canada gets bash so much is that they really don't do anything. How many times does Canada make the international news daily or even monthly. Its like making fun of somebody that never defends him/herself until one day SNAP!!! Oh and don't even start with Universal Healthcare, Healthcare is still better in the US, especially if you need medical attention for something more serious than a broken arm. And yes thankfully many of our big corporations like GM and Ford do much manufacturing up north to keep Canadians employed and in ther country unlike some other country(cough Mexico cough) excuse me. But I do here that Canada does rock for a great vacation place. And to feed the fire Tim Horton's sucks Shipley's rules.
P.S. Oh Species that joke about Canadians 1 aircraft carrier is great!
Oh and one more thing. A couple of uses guys said something about free stuff. There is no such thing as a free lunch!. The reason you do not pay for those services is that Canadians are heavily taxed enxchanged for half-assed government services that should be done by private businees.

I wish the States would convert to metric. We are one of the few countries that haven't. I use metric all the time though. Why do Americans dislike Canada? Maybe it's because some think it's like America only wierd. With those accents on some people and the French. I personally don't mind Canada.
