When did you become a regular to the ville?

How long have I been a regular? Wow, my memory doesn't go back that far. It dates back to the single-server days. But Avantiville is the only place I've ever played at regularly. It just stood out on the server list . . . . everything else had a name like "[nEx]RAveNouSMaDSkillZ~EHD~(SHouTouTToALlmyPEEpzINdaHooD)."

My first impression when I arrived at the Ville? "Man, I wish that {STAU}Greebo guy would stop killing me."

I've been here since there was only one server. I'm getting old for a 16 year old. I honed my skills here and learned to adapt and now I can pretty much hold my own.

Oct 31, 2001. Was bored on halloween so i decided to play a little tfc. Then by fate or something i founded the ville and all the great people in it

Wow, this is a realy nice thread you guys. I just warms my heart to read all of these great stories.

I would like to give a little indirect credit for the beginnings of TheVille by recalling a server that still exists today... Vortex.org Badlands 24/7... Roberto and I cut our TFC teeth on that server for... how long was it?? at least a year before TV. This was even before stats, all we had was the fledgling CLQ stats.

yes indeed, we discovered how nice it was to jump onto a server regularly and be greeted by smiling friends. *eyes staring off into space blissfully* we were inspired by the Vortex.org and POW! TV was born.
every now and again an old buddy from the vortex will pop in to say hello.

i guess what i was trying to say is thanks for stopping by The Ville; stay and make it your new fortress or call it your old castle away from home!

Yeah that's when Greenbo had a good connection and beat me up a lot. Now Greebs get's to pay the price about 20 fold. I bet he's still hoping that we are all still here in the Fall of 02 to pay me back.

I still remember when PWG was only about 10 members. I remember when STAU Greebo and Flank attack made me their biotch. Same goes for all of E4. Mr.Gib's probably won the potw because of me. I also never wanted to join any clan. So naturally Zero Hour got me to join PWG as like it's 10th or 11th member.

Last thing. I thought my /skill was starting to decline. It ain't because I went 106-5 against a bunch of unknown players. You bastards just have gotten too good.

I nearly got banned for "alleged" respawn camping. I have no clue why they thought that...except for the fact I was. Buford Pusser gave me a spd_cheat 3 and gave me some cement shoes. I was also one of Robert's "best" buddies here early on too...except for the fact he always made sure to look for me at all times.

Hmm, I originally joined back when it was one server and the stats/forums were on tfc.clarkgraphics.com. I went by "Dookie" originally, then "SnakeEyes". Then <PWG>Snakeyes came along and put the name to better skill than I had, so I switched to Warhammer. I used to look for Casbah and Dustbowl servers (Extreme TFC!) until the stats and non-stop Avanti made me stick with Avantiville. Many months, several servers, and an admin privilige later here I still am. Glad to be part of the group..

When I first went to Avantiville, I think it was May 2001. I didn't really go on a lot until last month, after I got out of school for 2 weeks. So I'm playing a lot now at the 'Ville.

Hmm...those might not be in exactly the correct order..but I think you guys get the idea..we've been through a lot here. There are some people here that were well established regulars before I ever even heard of the ville. And theres some pretty new people here too...whats great is that as long as I've known the ville its never stopped growing. The community now is WAY bigger than it was when I started. This place is great!!

BTW (for you old timers), has the ville lost any regulars over the years? Great people with great stories that us young'uns have never heard? I want to hear of the good 'ol days!!!

Frag, Please don't fall out of your chair because I am actually posting. It's been a long time since the ole spdcheat_3 that I brought down on you. I really have a hard time remembering that long ago. I haven't played as much TFC of late that I sould have...but I have been really pulled away from all computing at home. Like the new XBOX game Halo...really fun. I will try to be more active in the future.

Hhhhmmm I guess I have been here pretty long after reading some of these post. I reckoning I started when it was 1 server, AV1 and there was only a handfull of admins. I don't remeber the month, but it was around Jan-March 2001. I think I have played under Pornstar the whole time except for maybe a few games at the begining. Oh and the website was tfc.clarkgraphics.com.

I cant believe you dont remember me Frag I have played here a long time now.I can remember when it seemed like all the <PWG> guys would all be on one team usually bah it was a conspiacy hehe

There were only 2 servers and man it was always full and so hard to get in.I used to mainly play hw but have honed my skill as a spy here

I hope even when and if hehehe TF2 ever comes out the ville will stay around I love it
