ROFL, its the easiest 'skill' ever...its much easier to get a demo to trip his pipes or a soldier to miss his rockets while hopping. You're moving faster! A fast target is harder to hit than slow target...if you can't see that, you're the ignorant one. Not to mention you're strafing in the air and you aren't on the ground much to get hit with splash damage. You don't have to actively 'do' anything except bounce around and be tricky. And sorry, its not that much harder to hit w/ a hitscan weapon while bhopping than without. I should know, I do bhop and no bhop matches.
Just admit it, its an exploit that makes you move faster than you should. You can approve of it all you want, but for the love of god, quit trying to say its some 1337 'skill' or that its 'clearly meant to be there'. It changes the game from me vs. you to me vs. you vs. HL engine. I say leave the poor HL engine alone! People draw the line at what's lame and what's not at different points - some people disagree with scripting, some people disagree with bhop, some people disagree with exploitive cvars, and most people are against cheats. I draw my line at bhop. I'll leave it at that. |

Bunnyhopping is a skill. It takes effort to learn just like other "exploits" in tfc or any other portion of the game. Watch demos, spectate people, and practice to learn it. Don't just whine in game about how people are doing it. However, bunnyhopping isnt instantly going to make you leet or something. You cant just bhop around and all of a sudden be able to avoid all rockets and pipes as MSE seems to be implying. That takes more skill than just bhopping.

It is clearly supposed to be there though. Valve decided it was out of proportion in 1.1.0.6, capped it, and it has been at 170% since. 4 patches later, it's still here. It's part of the game. I don't see how you can argue that.
The easiest skill ever?! Ummmm... no. It took me a few months to learn. I haven't practiced anything else that much. All you do to conc is jump at the right time. I don't see your point.
Concing makes you harder to hit too. Should concing be removed because it scares newbs when you're flying around? ... I don't see your point.
Removing bhop would destroy TFC. It's a quick-paced, movement game. Without a skill like bhop it would be some much more boring, and many (like myself) would probably stop playing.

MSE: Maybe you haven't read some of these posts but we are trying to tell you it's a pretty basic skill that even the clans of 4a know how to do. It's not something leet by any means - it's just another tool to help defeat the enemy. There are no rules against it and I think the reason that many people, like yourself, are against it is because it is harder to play with than without.

That's how he gets to cap 5 on warpath so quickly. I agree with paddy. Dahak's giant eagle is an exploit and should be removed from tfc.
