People keep saying that everyone can learn it and use it easily. I can probably learn how to do it, but it wouldn't do me very good. Unless my laptop can learn how to grow a mouse and a mousepad, I cannot bhop. When I play with the pad thing in the middle, I use the arrows with my right hand and use the mouse with my left hand. I don't use the w, s, a, and d keys to move around. Even if I do make the left and right arrows to strafe, the small mouse would make it very hard to turn.

Maybe if someone can tell me how I can bhop with this setup, I will stop complaining.

The only way I know how to gain about maybe 15% is by jumping really fast without the turning thing. I don't think rocket jumping, pipe jumping, and grenade jumping are expliots. These things don't give you an advantage by confusing the engine like bunny hopping......

Damn, Stevo. How can you play anything on a laptop?

Anyways, personally I do think that bhopping is a part of the game, and it does take quite a bit of skill to pull off (skill that I unfortunately don't have.) Yes, I'll admit that I hate it when dahak and torak scout rush me on warpath, I hate chasing after them with my puny 130% jumping powers, and then watching them (or at least hearing their concs) as they conc onto my cap point.

But I deal with it. I see being owned by bhoppers the same way I see being owned by mike rotch, or trigger. They are simply better than me, and faster than me. And unless I find out where they live and break their arms, there's nothing I can do about it.

I've tried to learn how to bhop on uncapped servers, but I simply don't have the patience. I'm usually pretty lucky if I can hit 160% once or twice over the course of an hour, but I'll more often than not just give up before that happens.

Ok, I'm done.

I fell your pain. Though I have only played TFC 2 times, I play Natural Selection constantly, so I know what it is like. I have a wireless mouse and keyboard I use when I play. You might want to look in to something along those lines.

As for the bhop, I can say nothing, since I have only played TFC twice and that was atlest 3 months ago.

Sparky can show you a spedometer so you know to stop at 160% so you don't get slowed by the cap.

Yes, at this time it is allowed. It probably won't be allowed when the new patch with VAC comes out, it will ban you from all the servers with it and the admins here can't unban you.

You can get it at http://sparky.konspiracy.org/files.php[/quote]

The omg sparky is teh hacks idea is total BS, I personally don't run sparky/nem cause I don't freaken want it, does that mean I should yell because someone looks at a guage to see how fast he's going and I just feel it? I guess you should make practicing this game illegal because when I do that I get better at my timing. Also saying that conc jumps were intending in TFC and not QWTF is rather ignorant as well, because the original concs for TFC could easily make you go halfway across the map, I sure doubt valve intended that the way it was. Also we can look at the demoman pipe exploit that was taken out by valve, they could have done that but they didn't. Hello out there? I am right, I have facts more than just "omg hacks I don't like it" I hate this arguement, because it's generally filled with a bunch of people who seriously do not know what they are talking about.

Ignorants? Man, dig a little more. Your facts are wrong. I lived through it all, I was a QTF player 5-6 years ago.

For the conc jump, there was one big difference between QTF and TFC: the size of the models. The maps felt quite larger in QTF because of that. Believe me, the Well's middle yard was huge. So Valve made a mistake about the power of the conc jump because of that. Thinking that conc jumps was not intentional in TFC is way out of the correct track man.

The demoman pipe exploit was different, you needed a script to do it. That script was written by a KIN guy, or RE, one of the first top clans in the beginning of TFC. Valve did not remove it from the game, all they did was to install a delay of 1 second between laying a pipe and explode it. This made the script obsolete, because you could not explode the pipe instantly and thus use it as a weapon.

You can manually do that exploit... And you cannot possibly tell me they did not notice people flying across the yard off a conc when they were testing the game.

Doing it manually is not very efficient. The script made all the difference.

Half-Life came out in november (dont remember the year), and was supposed to be the engine for that famous TF2 game (lol). Early in january, they decided to make TF2 a separate game (maybe that is what they intended at the beginning). However the TF community was very pissed-off because many of them (including me) bought HL to be ready for TF2 (though I must admit the game owned), and we felt cheated. So, Valve decided to port TF as a mod on HL, and I think we got it in march, even thought it was expected in february. They may have noticed that conc power but lacked the time to correct it. It was done in further patchs.

MSE, bhop is very commonplace now. Most members in 4a clans know how to bhop. The game is old! Many people know the game very well. The pubs are dying, and the leagues are growing. Bhop is not a leet skill, it's a necessity to compete.

As for the rest, refer to Torak's post.

For giz and the others, I'll try to post a bhop demo later.
