From what I've seen, those are the biggest pieces of **** out there. But then again I remember when Huffy was a piece of **** bicycle too  |
Ya, I've heard nightmare stories about emachines and not being compatible with jack sh|t. Compaq has some good deals sometimes also, but the best thing like others said dont get anything that doesnt have an AGP slot. You can at least disable on board stuff via the bios. Myself I just would rather build my own. |

well i think if you buy one from my link that the comp you build yourself certainly can't compete against one like those. it may look cooler but the performance won't be as good.

Yeah, I'll build it out of some good parts:
P4 2.8
MSI SiS655 mainboard
Corsair XMS RAM 2x 512MB PC2700 cas2
ATI or Sapphire Radeon 9500Pro (unless the 9700 goes down ~$100 in the next week or two)
Unsure of power supply, probably a ~350-400W Enermax
I love new hardware  |

| Im sticking it out with a 1.2 GHz thunderbird, 256MB pc2100, and a Geforce2 GTS on my old soyo dragon plus (KT266a) until the athlon 64 finally comes out. Then, after selling my body, I will get a NV35 variant gfx card and a gig of ram (along with an NVidia chipset board). Then I will use all that to get decent frame rates in AAO, and possibly even be able to play doom3. |
