Getting RAM

ok now I need to know how can I find out what type of RAM I need. I saw stuff like PC100 and stuff like that but how can I find out what type I need. I'm confused. This has never happened to me before and right now my parents are being gheyer then hell and Its making me mad. My dad says he might not even get any ram for me. Thats how stupid they are

. Plz help

I think I have helped BK with all of his problems. It turns out that he may only be able to handle a total of 256 Megs of RAM.

If you want to double check me, I found the info on this site:

Man I feel bad for you.. that's the exact same model I had..
HAD..

It got so bad I dumped it and built my current PC.
Anyway, if it's the same one, your comp can only handle 256MB PC133 SDRAM MAX.

I tried to get ram myself and it didn't work. The computer wouldn't load. It turns out I have to buy it through gayway and pay more!

I just forgot about it and I'm planning on getting a Dell Inspiron 8200 soon with everything on it (unless of course they come up with a better one first

Just make sure its upgradeable, meaning dont get onboard sound and video.
