I will probably never run steam because of my connection. If steam is implemented as a requirement for HL/TFC, that will be the end of my time on TFC. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

I tried steam during the first beta, and got kicked by csguard
from what was then Munkey's TV4. So I wasn't that impressed,
needless to say. Nonetheless it's not a bad idea, I don't think. _________________

Based on this thread, I downloaded and played for a few hours. It's not to bad. Most is the same old TFC but there are some subtle changes to maps and of course, the teleporter. I encourage others to try it.

It's a small download, but the install works with other versions like opposing Force, Death Match, ect and takes about 10 minutes. Then you get a new icon on your desktop called Steam. This is where you start to see some interesting changes in the menu system.
All the maps I played were TFC maps but for example, Dustbowl had an alternative way out of base. Choosing a server is nice as well. All their info is in a little window and you pick the one you want. Again, it's worthy of trying in my opinion.
