Just trying to figure out ways to boost the intrest in the chat room. When you use the applet, it automatically takes you to The Villes IRC channel. To see an example of the Java chat room click the link..

i said yeah because people tend to hang around in the irc chanel so there will almost always be people in the chatroom

Yes because you can either conncet through this program or also still through IRC. So you don't have to learn IRC to get on the ville's channel.

Sounds like a good idea. I didn't like the chat room we currently have anyhow. Too much clicking and refreshing.

SOme one asked what irc is so I thought I would explain.

IRC = Internet Relay Chat
Basicly someone sets up a chat server and people use a IRC client (mIRC, Trillian, BitchX) to log into the server and chat. When a group of people all connect there servers it becomes a IRC network some of the big networks are Dalnet, EFnet, and Undernet. On a server all the different chat groups are divided into channels. The IRC channels for #theville, #TVB, #clanpwg, #njk-clan and #brtfc are all hosted on a IRC network called GAMESNET
Rather than seting up and using a irc client you can use a JAVA applet to connect to the server and join the channels. Thats what this poll is about.
thevillechat isnt used much.
#theville is a quiet channel most just idle till someone starts chating. We meet up there to frag and just generally hang out.
