Well, we've discussed nicknames, locations, personal background, and music. Now... what's left? Ah yes, the movies!

I like to catagorize my favorites by director, so here goes:

Stanley Kubrick (2001, Full Metal Jacket, Dr Strangelove)
David Fincher (Seven, Fight Club)
Kevin Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy, Dogma)
Martin Scorsese (Taxi Driver, Goodfellas)
Terry Gilliam (some Monty Python flicks, 12 Monkees, Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas)
Cohen Brothers (Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou, Fargo)
Quentin Tarintino (Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown)
Zucker Brothers (Kentucky Fried Movie, Airplane, Naked Gun)
Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Gladiator, Alien)
Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Lock Stock + 2 Smoking Barrels)

Just about Anything w/ Bill Murray (Rushmore, Ghostbusters, Wild Things (yeah, thats right Murray had the second best scene in Wild Things.))

Hrmmm. Thats probably too many... lol. But as you might have guessed I'm a bit of a movie fan. I used to work in a video store (Video Update) so I got lots of free movies.

One by Quentin Tarintino that I really like is "Resevoir Dogs". It's his first flick. Have you seen it? If not...get it real soon.

Along with Reservoir Dogs try Bad Lieutenant
It's a great movie about well you'll want to find out on your own. Also The Cube is a good cult type movie and if you haven't seen it don't even look at the cover just watch it the mystery of the setting is important to the enjoyment of the movie. Yeah I know there are two types of people. People who want to know first and those that don't. We're split 50/50 here. Guess which one I am? heeeheee I'm sure that all my favorites will be listed soon so I'll let someone else whose memory is better list them

I am not deep when it comes to movies. My favorite depends on my mindset, but here is a list.

Undersiege (Best Action Movie)
Life of Brian
Quest for the Holy Grail
Braveheart
Tombstone
Postman (Sorta like The Ville

)
Highlander (the original, the rest are trash)
Aliens (1 was ok, 2 was best, 3 & 4 were so so)
And for sheer laugh volume American Pie

I agree with Roofcutter, Ya gotta se the Bad Lieutenant, great movie. Others that are equally as great are:

The Green Mile (Good book as well)
Shawshank Redemption
Seven
The Star Wars Trilogy(I would have included The Phantom Menace if it wasn't for Jar Jar Binks)
It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World
The Dual(real spooky tanker truck chasing Denis Weaver thru the desert)
Logan's Run
The Shining
Forest Gump
Casablanca (Ya just gotta like Bogey)
Saving Private Ryan (Still the best WW2 movie to date)

There are a few more movies that I can't think right now but I may add them later. There are a few Stephen King books here that translated well to film but favorite books should be saved for another thread.

Hmmmm... I guess my favorite movies would be in no particular order: All Star Wars movies, All James Bond movies. Rush Hour 1 and 2, As Good as it Gets. Austin Powers 1 and 2, All Jurassic Park movies, Toy Story (I know thats kind of immature). Men In Black, Unbreakable, and many more. I just cant think of them right now.

Unbreakable=most boring movie ever made. Any silent movie whips Unbreakable. No offense.

I personally like the movie The Client
but no one has seen it. It based on the Josh Grisham novel of the same title. You guys should rent it or download it some time.

Another good flick is "Fallen", it stars Denzel Washington. It is a mystery/suspence movie. Keeps you guessing and the way it was filmed really spooks you.

Casablanca

All the Star Wars (saw Episode I at 5am opening day for free after winning tickets from local newpaper-then saw it agian that night at 9pm - already had the tickets)
Jaws (original only)
All the Indiana Jones' movies
Hoosiers
And most of the others listed from all the previous posts.

Actually the best movie of one of Grisham's books IMO is A Time to Kill

Anything done by Kevin Smith Rules (Jay and Silent Bob films), Holy Grail is Pretty good, DESPERADO OWNZ ALL, and all of the evil dead/army of darkness flicks. How could I forget fight club and Enter the Dragon (greatest martial arts film). Bah the list goes on and on forever!

I like many of the ones already listed, although I didn't see Miller's Crossing with the Cohen brother's list. Excellent film.

But one that I would give my eye teeth to see again was a Martial Arts film. It was a pretty hokey plot about these various Kung Fu masters looking for a fighter to learn their particular fighting techniques and whip the butt of the guy who had taken over their town. At one point a couple of these so called masters are being rowed across a river by a Ferryman. Halfway across he stops and just sits there. They're in a big hurry so they start yelling at him asking what he's doing. And in a scene that had me and my college buddies weeping with laughter he says, "Oh... I'm just thinking. About my life. And my problems." And when they object, he beats the crap out of them.

I can't really explain to you why I think that is the greatest moment ever captured on film. But I do.

Don't know what it was called, I should have just paid the fine for losing a movie and just never taken it back. If any Kung Fu movie buffs can help me identify that I'd sure be grateful. I'd love to have that line on my answering machine.
