Ok, I just ran across a fun map at planetfortress.

Its Well, but with a serious Christmas twist.

Download it from here:

http://www.theville.org/files/pafiledb.php?PHPSESSID=b88c1bcd216f917c7b17e16afbad96c8&action=dlfile&fid=41

We may get it into rotation at the Ville over the holidays.

JD

I am getting it now, eager to try it out. Another possible winter themed map is Vidars, I have seen it running on other servers recently so its not too terribly rare. It has a couple of icy spots that make things interesting.

Looks like we've been invaded by Kilaaks. I think TYO was infected or something. Must band together as team to repel them! Even if we have to abandon the normal use of sentence structure to make room for more adjectives, must defeat Kilaak... any costs!!

No time verbs and modifiers. Defend Ville!!!

Please note I have changed the link to Xmaswell2, the first one lags too much for many players.

Get this file instead.

XmasWell2 is now in the rotation for TV2 ladies and gentlemen! Merry Christmas and enjoy. Maybe we will find a New Year's map to run on the server next weekend...

And remember ...as my lovely wife Dejah Thoris told me just last night, "JohnCarter, why can't you all just get along for a few minutes and build a snowman or sing some carols, something besides shooting each other??"

"But baby, its much more fun to watch the nepalm grenades melt the snow and mix it with the scattered bloody parts(or in tfc techie speak 'gibs')..." *hmmmm did I just say that?* Well, red is a Christmas color too... right??

Yes they do but they do open in a few seconds.
I don't have any lag while playing.
It sure is fun running around in the snow.

actually, it's pretty interesting when you get onto the middle section where that sheen of snow/glaze/whatever, blocks your view to the other side.

You can pop through from behind that sheen to face the other side and let off a few rounds before popping back behind it.

To get there, climb up to your roof, jump crouch onto the ledge at the corner, go down the ledge that runs towwards the enemy base. Hop down onto the middle section and you're there.
