LOL.

i have been drivin around today to search some compressed air but didn't find any. thursday i'm going to my comp store and if i don't find some there i'm going to my cardealer. i'm sure he will have a compresser there.

Office Depot/ Office Max / Costco all carry compressed air. You can take the powersupply apart, usually just a couple screws hold it to your case, and a couple hold a panel you can take off.

There are some programs that can monitor your temps of your system you might wanna download and try out. Motherboard Monitor is a popular one, and if you have an AMD system you could download Vcool.

Just don't mistake it for a compressed air can with "WD-40" printed on it... that'd cause some significant problems.

On the other hand, try it! First it'd short out, then it would burst into flames... that'd be cool!

hehehe, just go to best buy, office max, hell, even walmart would have compressed air cans for a couple bucks.

Oh... uh... if you're in Belgium, I guess the American chain stores aren't very good advice...

If you go to a car dealer, be careful with the how much air pressure you blow into stuff... spinning fans too fast can actually ruin them... especially if you spin them backwards. Also, high pressure air hitting chips might force them loose... this used to be more a problem with old hardware that had chips that you could replace on the motherboard...

If you used 150psi air, I'm betting you could actually snap a ram chip or an add in card with a direct hit.

If you can't find any compressed air, a drinking straw can work too... it won't clean out a power supply very well, but it will get most of the dust out of your system. (just try not to spit too much when you blow through it, that'd be bad)

My air compressor spits air out at 130 psi. I haven't had any issues with it. Of course I don't put it right on the boards either. I cleaned out Frag's machine when he first got here and it took my around 10 minutes with the compressor to get it clean. Under, over, around, behind, I made sure I didn't miss a thing.

BTW, WD-40 is non conductive. However I too would not recommend using the stuff. It may look clean and shiny for a week or two but it actually attracts dust. Then you'd have a hell of a time getting it clean

really? non conductive? I didn't know that...

I wonder if you could do a WD-40 cooled system... get rid of all the fans, and submerge it all in WD-40... then run a couple cables up for floppy/optical drives out of the liquid... hmmmm.....

It's true, nonconductive. If your distributor cap ever gets wet, remove it and spray it with WD-40. I use it all the time in electrical applications. If it were conductive I'd be dead by now, tee hee hee.
