Apparently Valve does not mind people having scripts...cuz they could've easily killed the "alias" command a long time ago.

Most scripts don't give any real advantage. Just there to make it easier on my hands.

This is quite a dead issue though. Complaining about scripts is just as bad as using them.

Here's a script from my soldier.cfg, explain to me why this is so bad....

alias "+solswitch" "tf_weapon_supershotgun"
alias "-solswitch" "tf_weapon_rpg"
bind "MOUSE2" "+solswitch"

How it works..holding down MOUSE2 brings out my shotty, when I release it, it goes back to my RPG. I could easily bind MOUSE2 to "lastinv" and it would accomplish the same basic thing. But leave a possibility of switching to the wrong weapon to begin with.

And scripts don't make poor players good. No matter what scripts you have, if you don't have any skill it won't help.

Valve really likes scripts, heck they've yet to patch the anticonc script, multi weapon script or the spectator script Although those would be really good examples of "bad" scripts. So uh don't use them

I'm another one of the people who've never used a script in TFC. I'm not totally new to scripting though... When I played UO on the hax0red free server, I used some scripts to train skills/stats, but only for training. I'd never use a script when I'm competing with someone... if I'm gonna win, it's going to be because I'm actually good

Well, ok, so if I'm gonna win, it's because I can spam more

I just started using scripts. I use one that tells your team about a spy and what his disguise is when you press - and then the number of the class. I also have a feign script, clean screenshot script, and a script that tells your team what you are disguising as.
