One Love
Heart torn appart,
Swept away with the dust,
Walking through these streets,
The crowd looks at me,
Surround me, I can't breathe,
As I make my way home,
Once again, I'm all alone,
There's one and one only,
Who loves all, and that's god.
Before I interviewed the person who's running the program called "Young Men's Creative Writing" in UTEC, I did an asignment were I had to write a poem in less than 3 minutes. This is what I came up with. You can visit UTEC's website at http://utec-lowell.org

Silent Fate
Far away in a distant place
The feeling of being lost in space
Hurting inside and losing mind
Why can't there be a feeling of kind
Distant seas falling rivers
Tears of saddness cring times
Locked inside the mind
Seeing nothing but blank skies
Everyone left without good-bye's
Even friends with broken lies
Sounds of sadness without life
Baren land with no light
Silent death put up no fight
Time is gone the mind fades
And the intense feeling of hate
Last breaths of silent fate

All good stuff. My wife writes poetry, too. I would post some but I better get permission from the author first (I don't want to be in the doghouse).
As a side note...ROOF, is that PrincessRoofcutter in the pic on the poem site? If so, I don't envy your role as the father--I personally dread when my daughter is of dating age, and she is only 6 now...

Thank you gindapoo, raise them right and with a lot of luck you may just get lucky as I. Shes a good kid and has been a joy. no horror stories here

I definitely will try to raise mine right. Actually today I witnessed to some extent what we are up against as parents. Some students at the school where I teach have been caught with marijuana and were dismissed--the bad part is they were "A" students. I guess we do the best we can and hope that the desicions we make in raising them help them make the correct desicions on their own when the time comes.
Now the wife's poem (I didn't exactly get permission from her, but here is one anyway...).
Sometimes love is like an algebra problem--;
So confusing, that its true meaning may never be found.
And at other times, it's like a bright star--;
Shining through the worst of times when it should be dim.
Love is a bond that will be tried.
But if the bond is strong enough it pulls through anything.
Love is like a balloon, with lots of ups and downs--;
The ups are the greatest; the downs will pass with time.
Love is something that must happen on its own, without being pushed,
For when it's truly found, love is worth the wait.
