Myself and Gen.Badass have now been unbanned from The Ville IV (DoD server). We're not sure who unbanned us or why we were suddenly unbanned as nobody posted or pm'd us informing us that the ban had been reversed/lifted. Again I would like to thank everyone who voiced their concerns and support on this issue. I would also like to thank some of the admins who helped in our quest for explanations and other answers.

I also have a few side notes I'd like to mention. Starting with Ktulu who issued both of the bans. There is no doubt in my mind that Ktulu did what he believed to be the right thing at the time, in that situation. I believe the decision may have been a bit too quick but we will never know for sure. He followed all the steps that anyone could have asked be followed,
recording a demo, watching in spec and then issuing the bans. He responded to the inquiry posts in a very timely manner, although with what I feel was some unneeded aggression towards us. Now I can't say for sure what happened but my personal feeling is that Gen.Badass' position was never discovered before the ban and had the demo worked it would have been easy to tell that there was no cheating going on and it would have properly been dealt with from there. Unfortunately the demo didn't work and for this I've heard that Ktulu has taken a lot of heat. Ktulu is a person like you or I and although his attitude in his posts may not have sat well with some of us he is allowed to make a mistake. When the demo didn't work he stuck to his decision come hell or high water. Whether it was being stubborn or doing what he felt was right I'm sure it was meant to better the playing environment of others. Now I've heard this and I've heard that and I don't know about past events but personally I hold no ill feelings towards Ktulu.

I have looked at the site over the past few days and have seen some great things. A lot of hard work and dedication has obviously gone in to making this online gaming community and making it work as effectively and efficiently as possible. The Ville relies on the support of it's faithful players and admins, as well as it's store (full of some cool merchandise) to keep the community running. I've heard rumors that people don't want to support The Ville due to recent events. The Ville offers players one of the best fair play oriented environments on it's servers that I have seen in a while. Although they wont be getting any financial support from me any time soon I hope that the people who do support it don't hesitate to
continue to do so.

Some people wondered why myself and Gen.Badass were so persistant about having our bans reversed when there are 30,000 other servers out there to play on. It was a matter of pride and self respect. We were out to make our point and if a policyor two got changed so that this couldn't happen again then all the better.

Finally, for you admins who live by the philosophy of "this is our server and if you don't like it go elsewhere" I've got news for you. If everyone took your advice you wouldn't get any more player support to help run the servers. Without the servers the only thing you'd be in charge of is your bodily functions. Having said that most of the admins here do a good job, responding to people's concerns in a very timely fashion and dealing with it quickly. The admins here give their own time to help ensure that we the players have a good playing environment and for that I cannot commend them enough. Although I wont be a Ville supported financially, I do support The Ville in it's principle. I will continue to visit these boards and the DoD server as there are a lot of good people who are part of this community. I thank everyone for their support and concern over
the last few days and hopefully this issue will be put to rest. -[ACR]Bacon

I am glad that is the way you feel about this Bacon. Your pride and self respect have been restored to you. I am proud for that.

The 'if you don't like it, go away and find somewhere else to play' is one of my philosophies. Honestly, most of the people we ban here are fully deserving and don't give a damn about having a good time. They just like to piss other players off and generally be an ass to their fellow human beings. We don't want those people to support The Ville.org. That will never change.

Your support in a financial sense is never required and I would ask that you don't support our servers financially. I would suggest that you gather the resources to build your own Clan Game server. We have all the support we need and money is not an object that drives this community. Money is just something that the long time regs wanted to contribute to the cause, nothing more...

Most of our community's resources are the members themselves. I spent three days working through this situation with you ACR guys and there will be some procedure changes due to the problems that occured over these last few days. So in essence, the Ville.org functions through people's dedication and TIME spent, Not through funding (money is just frosting on the cake).

Your hospitable attitude and calm demeanor are what saved you and your clan mate from remaining on a permaban. Civilized discussions are always acceptable here. Now, the flame wars that were resulted from other disgruntled players expressing their opinions was completely unneccessary. This was none of your fault and I would never try to place the blame this upon you and badass.

However, in the future rest assured that when a ban occurs there will be certain guidelines set to follow. Unfortunately, we have to spell things out for people rather than letting them figure it out for themselves. In this I thank you for enlightening me. This has been a learning experience for all of us and hopefully we will be better for it. The Ville.org has been around for approx 3 years now and I am proud to be one of the founders.

Petty issues and BB flaming will not bring my beloved gaming community down, I promise that...

I'm happy it's been resolved. Hopefully we can go forward from here. You still won't see me on dod because I can't tell the difference between the two damn teams.
