TV2 and TV3

Hey all.

I was just wondering how come it seems, at least from my perspective, that no one is on TV2 or TV3. I go there at different times in the day, nada.

TV1 is populated, not the others.

Why is that?

I don't know why II and III would be empty, but TV I has bots that always keep it populated.

I have been to both TV2 and TV3 within the past couple of days and people have either shown up or already been there. Maybe I just got lucky

. I'm not sure why people aren't playing on TV3 to be honest. No offense to Danno, SilverOne, or Merf but for some reason I seem to time out on TV1 a lot. It's probably a bad hub somewhere but it frustrates me. However I'm not having those issues on the other servers. Keep a look out, I'll be there.

I have noticed the same things.

On several occasions, I have popped onto TV2 or TV3 and in a very short time we had a nice game.

I think players are only looking to join active games. I understand that.

As loyal villuns, we should make the effort to use all the servers. If that means spending a few minutes alone. so what? Practice.... you need it anyway.

I have had my most memorable times and met my best Ville friends by just hanging with a player or 2 on a quiet server. You have an opportunity to compare notes and try different things.

Personally, I like the smaller games. It's just as challenging to play 2 on 2 or 2 on 1.

Try it…who knows? You might have fun…..

I wish people would start using TV3 again... I cannot connect to Acropolis2 anymore for some reason.. so, that keeps me from getting on TV1 a lot of times.

I can play Acropolis2 if I'm already in the game when map rotates. I like the map rotation on 3 also.. dunno why no-one goes on there.

There are lots of reasons why some servers are busy and some arent.

1: Mainly people arent going to go on a server with only one or two people, they want one with more players than that.

2: Ping, everybody wants a good ping.

3: Map rotation,(Biggie) gotta stay fresh, with the popular maps. CUSTOM MAPS are the death of any server, you will never attract new players with them.

4: And of course, a server that is kept up to date and has admins that will fix problems in a timely manner as they arise.

5: Admins Listening to what the public wants, and reacting in a timely manner.

Those are what I have found will get a server full. And it has helped TV1 and TV4. As soon as I added the bots in and got some players there, people came. Mapcycle has the maps the most of us Villuns love plus are popular with the public. Ping is good all the way around for most players. Plus Silver, Merf and Myself keep the server up to date, and fix any problems you guys have in a timely manner. Also we listen to what you want, and react rather quickly on it. Tell us what you want, or your problems with a server, PM IM or email, we are always available, no problem is to small. We will work with you until we get a resolution. Dont hold your issues back and just "deal" with them, if we dont know we cant fix. We are here to provide some good servers and a good playing enviroment.

Putrid, What happens when you try to connect? Did you try redownloading the map from TV1? I know the downloads are slow, so heres a link to acropolis2 that I just pulled off the TV1. Or catch me on the server later and Ill work with you.

BRN When are you timeing out? When connecting or something else? You might want to check and make sure Frag isnt downloading some pron..

BRN, The left coast has always had a hard time with TV1. Routing seems to be pretty bad from there to Chicago. Its kinda wierd cause the Northwest seems to do pretty good. You n Frag should get a left coast server going... Trust me no disrepect sensed at all, we all play where we get a good ping. I would love to see all of the servers full again. Just wanted to share what I have learned on how to get/keep a server going strong, plus the fact we are always open to listening to what the Villuns have to say, dont be afraid to drop us line..
