Makeup your minds! One day the player limit is 19 and today it's 17. What's the maximum capacity of these servers and why are they not set to the max ? |

Not sure I follow you. TV4 has been the same the whole time.
I don't think TV7 has changed.. its still 20 with 2 reserves like its been.
As far as maxing.. every server is different. Each server admin configures their server to perform well to what kind of bandwidth and/or hardware they have.
For instance TV4 :
It has 16 players max. 14 normal and 2 reserves. After countless tests this is the best configuration for the bandwidth available to the server at this time. Its running off a T1 but its not a full one. In the near future we hope to be able to raise the number of players to over 22. If we raise the limit now.. it would be unplayable over 16 players.
And If tv7 is full.. go to 4. heh _________________

What are you talking about? If they did change like that you would definatly see alot more posts on that issue. Server player limits havent changed, and we dont change them like that. Sounds like you might be havinig issues connecting. Let us know what is says when you connect and we will get you in.. TVI has been 22 with 2 of those reserved sinced it came up. Only change there was actually adding 6 more slots. As for maxing th.e servers out, really anything over what the servers are now will pretty much just make the servers nothing but a giant spamfest. Let us know what server you were trying to connect to and time and what error you got and we will work with you on it.. |

OK guy's, What I mean is, lastnight I managed to get into a game when the player count was 19/20. Saturday afternoon the player count was 17/20 and when the game launched it failed to connect stating "There was no reserved spaces left or something of that nature" The games capacity was full at 17. I exited and then refreshed and it was 17/20 ? Thanks Silver!
That's what I am talking about Danno! I've noticed this a fewtimes since it's been up. I really don't care! I just thought that it was odd is all _________________ http://www.nosmacktards.com |

Species, Im not trying to be mean or anything about it... I Really think its wierd to. Just seems like when we get one issue fixed with these servers something else comes up, sorry for my attitude it just gets frustrating. Only Idea I have right now is its not releaseing player slots right away. Blue Ruler had the same problem a while back. What server was it? Or is it all of them? Id really like to go through the logs and see whats happening. Feel free to PM or IM when this happens again and ill jump right in and take a look. I should be on most of the night. |

Ok, i have another theory.. When you look at the player counts are you looking at the playercount on theville.org? If you are remember that is not always right.. Unless you refresh the webpage you are not getting a accurate count. Its only showing the number of players on since you loaded the page. Players may have entered since the page loaded... So refresh the page before you hit the connect button to double check the player count. |

When the player count was higher, were there any admins on? or supporters? They get reserved slots and there are two of those on a server. This would allow for the count to be 19/20 at times and still let people in and also be 17/20 and not let people in. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Admins and Members only take reserved slots if no public slots are available. So if server is really at 19 players and a admin or member comes in they take the public slot. Now the player count is at 20, so if a regular player comes it it will give that reserved slot message(even if you are not a member thats the error it gives), A admin or member would be able to get in and take one of the 2 resereved slots. |
