[edit] by the way Metric pwns Imperial. 12 inches per foot? ~3000 feet per mile? What the hell is that?? 100 centimetres per metre, 1000 metres per kilometre. That's the way to go [end edit] |
the U.S. measuring is jsut a way to show off how smart we are... we can remember those types of things... and if there were 3000 feet permile i guess that means my car woudl get better gas milage, sure metric is "simple" but maybe its just because it needs to be for some people cough*canuks*cough to use it eh? ..... lol _________________

They also use the Celsius temperature scale. JD said the wind chill would be -40, which comes out to be 7 degrees farenheit. |
Actually -40 Celcius is the same as -40 Farenheit (or however it is spelt)
With Celcius water freezes at 0 and water boils at 100, its better than 32F and 212F, somewhat more logical.

Oops, when I was converting, I accidently did 5/8 instead of 8/5, doh

Anyone who's freezing to death in Canada should come live in Utah. We have the freakiest weather. It's the literal middle of winter and it feels like early spring outside. You can see people walking around in T-shirts with no coats.
As I said to my brother when stepping outside a week ago, "It's January, right? RIGHT!?!?!?" _________________

I don't know why we cant go by the metric system. I think we've tried to before, but it never caught on. _________________

belgium:
10-15°C
raining, clouded, temprature drops below 0°C at night.
if i looked at you guys i can't complain about the weather.
but still it ain't hot here.
in summertime it goes to a max off 30-35°C and actually that's a bit too hot for me.
around 25°C the hole year would be great _________________ PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF =US-V= & VILLE $UPPORTER |

Well folks I just spent the past hour and a half out there with the shovel and snow blower, the walks and driveways are free of the white stuff but for how long nobody knows.
I was covered from head to toe with snow and my stash was a frozen block of ice. The rest of my face was in various stages of frozen/snow covered and I was thinking of taking a pic to post but decided it was best to not give Bushido or KRG anymore ammo in the JD bashing posts
BTW, I see Bushido has a new sig
Have a good day all, I am going to sit here and thaw out a little. Once I can feel my hands again I may try to play a game or two to get the blood circulating in them again.

I'd actually rather go to the metric system. It's so much easier to use. The problem is, though, is that if the US suddenly changed to the metric system, we'd be spending money left and right to change books, signs, blahblahblah. And BTW, it's the CUSTOMARY system, not the imperial (You know you want to join the darkside though, eh?)
As for tempature, about the lowest it's gotten during the day in this area of Texas, is about 32 degrees F. For most of winter we run around with shorts and shirts on _________________
