Ok, here is the latest forcast:

HEAVY SNOWFALL WARNING FOR
CITY OF EDMONTON CONTINUED
10 TO 15 CENTIMETRES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED TO FALL TODAY AND
TONIGHT.

A PACIFIC WEATHER DISTURBANCE WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SNOW INTO CENTRAL ALBERTA TODAY AND EARLY TONIGHT. 10 TO 15 CENTIMETRES OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED. WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL IMPROVE TOWARDS MORNING.

MEANWHILE THE COMBINATION OF BRISK NORTHWEST WINDS AND COLD TEMPERATURES WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS NEAR MINUS 40 TODAY AND TONIGHT OVER NORTHERN ALBERTA.

Listen, -40 is COLD !!! I guess I wont be going out and working on my suntan anytime soon. I bet I could get a nice windburn though.

Yeah, I'm liking that. I grew up in Munich and Denver, cold is right up my alley. Do I get to use you're outside toilet too?

Your welcome to it, you just need to shovel a path to it and clean the snow off the seat beforehand.

Hmmm, I just had a great idea. Now that we have so much snow I can build a outhouse out of snow to protect myself from the elements.

Canada, and mose European countries use the metric system, like millimeter, centimeter, kilometer. They also use the Celsius temperature scale. JD said the wind chill would be -40, which comes out to be 7 degrees farenheit. As for the word 'metre', that's meter, the spelling on certian things is also different. Another example: they spell it licence, we spell it license.

Actually -40 Celcius is the same as -40 Farenheit (or however it is spelt)

With Celcius water freezes at 0 and water boils at 100, its better than 32F and 212F, somewhat more logical.

It was -15F here this morning. With 3-4 inches on my car.

Of course, it's like that every morning...for 5 months of the year....

On the front page of the Montreal Gazette on tuesday morning it said Today's Forecast: COLDER THAN HELL!
And let me tell you. It really was.

It was -50 on the island of montreal, and went down to about -70 to - 80 in some of the outlying areas of Quebec.

of course now the temps went back up to a normal -30 (thank god)

[edit] by the way Metric pwns Imperial. 12 inches per foot? ~3000 feet per mile? What the hell is that?? 100 centimetres per metre, 1000 metres per kilometre. That's the way to go [end edit]
