funny or not they(being whomever created this satire) have the right to express their views just like we do.
I am not particularly fond of the way my representatives on Capitol Hill vote themselves raises at every session and continually look out for themselves and their financial supporters rather than the tax paying public. _________________ JohnCarter, Warlord of Mars

Well that nicely split the ville in two.
Amazin some of the double standards going on here:
| Quote: | | I don't like what is said. Mocking the government, okay, but not like that. Even I'm not that morbid. |
| Quote: | | while i dont think you should censor shit like that, its aboslutely rediculous someone is attacking the govornment that is giving them the right to speak out like that against it |
Not one but two (count em) quotes about how it's ok to use the right to free speech...so long as it ain't like that. Free to say what you want...but not that....anyone else spot a flaw there?
Forget? Who can forget? Not me.
But does that horrific incident mean people can't satirise people in power? Course not.
Sgt you posted this smiley with it: :usa
Now surely the US flag represents, especially to US citizens, the right to say whatever you damn well please regardless of whether or not others agree? _________________ Most evil admin around.

No, of course you can say what you want that is the beauty of this country. Some of those in power are arses that is a given but there are some working for and on behalf of us all IMHO.

I agree 1000% that is why I posted what I did. ---->http://www.politicsandprotest.org/
People can say what they want about this country :usa that is there right, but it is also my right to say to that video. _________________

but how can you use free speech to attack free speech? in that case, you are trying to get rid of free speech and a better way to do that would be to not say anything at all... heh its a paradox _________________ my pic host-age died!

This pretty much sums it up. Mocking the government is one thing, no problem with that. I just don't agree on the topic which was used to do so. _________________

This movie is just a bit too cynical for my tastes. But in a way, this movie and other kinds of media like it are what make America great.
You guys have lined it out already. Free Speech.
I don't like this movie becuase 9/11 is just too sad of a topic to joke about, but there's a lot published and released that I don't agree with. So upon seeing this movie, I can only say "God bless America, and thank Him for free speech."
I still think it's a wonderful country where you can say something people other people don't agree with, even if you're slandering the government. Of course, we have just as much right to slander that movie as that movie itself slanders the President, which is the price they pay for putting out thier opinions. It's it great that we can all disagree with each other? That we can all have our own points of view? Isn't it wonderful that we can complain about the government?
Thank God for free speech. _________________

I don't dare click on this, as I'm at work...
But if it's political, I don't care if it's funny or not,
freedom of political speech is one of our core freedoms
in the USA... _________________

Disgusted or not, you CANNOT selectively allow free speech - it utterly defeats the purpose of free speech. I'm sorry but you cannot have it both ways as much as something offends you.

Well I dont think anyone really wants to stop anyone from speaking freely. But just because you can does not mean you should.
We usually stay away from politics and religion because there are so many sides and opinions. This is generally a place to ecaspe the everyday world. Those in school have classes for this and for others we have work and other outlets for these discussions.
It certainly pisses me off when someone posts that stuff knowing that and then comes back to pick the answers apart, knowing he will get opinions that he can jump on.
Keep it to yourself, or use it in places that are intended for that. _________________ Only in America......do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering. |
