Veilside was quick!!!! I wasn't that far behind when he came up on voice and said he'd finished. I thought I got through it quick but still got smoked. Veilside, this one is for you _________________

Unbelievable Veil. Even though I didn't win, I am happy to say that I learned how to conc as a result of this tournament. I practiced a bit this week, but until earlier today I had only finished the map 3 times and never under half an hour.
Today I watched lots of the great concers practicing on TV1 and learned some of their tricks. I had no idea you could conc straight up on the room with the balls. I also learned that I could do it with one conc. Because of this I was able to make it into the finals. Of course I didn't stand a chance against Veil no matter how much I learned about the map and concing, but it was a good experience nonetheless. I completed the map twice in under 5 minutes during the tournament! I never even thought that was possible.
Thanks Shaft and all my Brothers for putting this on. And of course Danno, Merf and Silverone for letting us use TV1. It was a great learning experience. _________________ Amen!

It was good fun. Concing is something for me to improve upon, as well as soldier, sniper, offense - the list goes on

TY all! VVGG! I know Paddy posted the HLTV of the last run, but please don't laugh at me on jump 8 I just kinda broke down for a sec. Luckily I put myself back together with the double conc. TY Shaft for putting it together. I hope to see something similar in the future. _________________

It was a great learning experience. |
I am so glad to hear that.
A big part of why I hosted the contest was to help people learn new skills. |

Yeah I learned a lot about concing too, I finally mastered the double conc and I'm pretty good at hh now. Now all I have to do is perfect my hh and learn how to triple conc. Who knows, maybe I'll get better than Veil...NOT.
Now if only I can learn how to aim while conced, I might actually be able to play well as a med or scout (or against a med or scout).
Thanks Shaft, Danno and everyone else who participated.
BTW does anyone know any other good concmaps I can try out that are harder than Tayconc? The only other concmap I've ever played was 58thv2 (or something along those lines) and that was a pretty damn easy map. _________________ -Thewz

Thanks Chen, I doubt you'll have to hook me up with any unreal maps any time soon. I'm still pretty new to concing. These 4 maps should keep me busy for a while. |

If you want to practice triple conc, concmap_r is the map for you. The last jump needs it. Also, jump #5 is a fairly long jump, you need good timing to do it.
My former teammate from CSI made a map that was well regarded back in the days. It is called concmap_csi _________________ PJ --- ancient IDIOT with a rusty CROWBAR....
