That was the entire reason I had to switch over to comcast's domain from the now-dwindling AT&T. After they buyout was approved, AT&T told
everyone with internet but not TV that they'd have to pay for TV, use it or
not. So I had my account combined with another person in my household
that only has TV. The idiot that did the combination deleted both accounts
and made a new one, thus making it appear like I'm a new-enrollee
and forcing me to go through the conversion ahead of most other people.
One good thing, I'm getting more webspace, and their FTP site to
connect to it is faster. _________________

Uhhhhhhhhhm, you'll note in the news in the financial section,
or on the websites of the two companies, Comcast bought AT&T out.
They're moving everyone over slowly. You didn't know?
<==== me also |
Did Comcast buy AT&T out (like the phone services, T.V., and cable), or did they buy out just AT&T cable services? For me, service is pretty decent. Once in while it will randomly not be online, but if it is, it's only for a minute.

From what I've been able to gather (business news is a bath in
suit-speak that is hard to sift through) AT&T spun off the TV, Internet,
and Local Phone services into 'AT&T broadband', which then immediately
merged with Comcast, to operate under the Comcast name.
AT&T wireless seems to be spun off now also, or about to be spun off,
and Bell Labs was spun off as Lucent Technologies some time ago...
When AT&T announced that it was going to break itself up a couple
years back, they sure weren't kidding.
Here's Comcast's FAQs on the matter, kinda light on details: Click here _________________
