Bars smoke free good idea or bad idea?

In Boston, I've heard about a law that's suppose to prevent smokers from smoking in bars because it causes health hazzards to the waiters or staff working there. And it's close to being passed on.
I think its a good idea to banned smoking from bars. Think of the poor waiters

. They serve well to us ... aren't they entitled to a smoke free enviroment?

Smoking indoors has been illegal in California for a long time now.A large majority of drinkers smoke so if you take a job in a bar or go to a bar expect smoke IMO.

Well like one Senator said about the No Smoking Law.....

I don't care if people smoke, just not around me.

There should actually be smoking and non-smoking bars, I think that'd work fairly well... it's sort of a traditional thing to walk into a bar, and be greeted by a dim haze of smoke... if people (especially the young people) got accustomed to walking into a bar with all the benefits of bars (members of the opposite sex, booze, and loud music), without the annoying haze, I think it'd be almost as addicting as the Ville forums!

I've been to a fair amount of smoke free bars. They don't seem to have a problem with customers. It doesn't matter to me one way or the other. I quit smoking about a year ago and it doesn't bother me to be around it.

once upon a time, long ago, something that should of been forgotten was lost... opps wrong thread..

However once upon a time, back in the UK there used to be smoke rooms at the pubs, then a cleaner "lounge" for the non-smokers...
