[FragFailure]

This is an issue that needs to be revisited. Had an issue with a player a few months ago about playing for stats AND not teamplaying. There have been players here who have needed to be told about this before. There is another high scoring player who needs this lesson taught.

The moral of the story. If you don't make a concerned effort to attack on offense then I will kick you for someone who will. This is especially if this player plays a class that SHOULD be attacking (cough soldier.)

Yes, I went 24-0 as a sniper and died. I switched to engy and got a few emps for this player. He was given a visit x2. He also didn't make much of an effort to take me out (engy) with him (soldier)and decided to run. That matchup should be to the advantage of ANY skilled soldier. This player also made sure to switch to my team once a spot opened up.

This top 5 player is also 0-2 against Frag(and has a winning record against everyone else.) You figure out who he is. Let this be a warning to this player. Play like a pansy again and I'll kick you off for someone who promotes teamplay. I'd rather have a clueless newbie rather than a selfish "talented" player. Hence the name TEAM Fortress Classic.

As you know some players have been caught cheating. No regulars thus far have been caught. I also hope to God himself that every player who is a regular on the Ville also would never end up getting caught cheating. That would be an embarrassment to you and to us who trust you in this community.

oh my god...did hell freeze over? sword was playing an attacking class? and what else would you expect from him? he needs to realize that to win POTW from now on that you will have to cap ALOT, as rocketfly is showing. my prediction is that soldiers will dominate the top 5 from now on.

I did some quick research, and it was who I thought. Didn't think he played soldier much though. Seems like he just plays Death Match and it just so happens he has a team running around somewhere.

Kinda funny to imagine him hopping around as a soldier and out pops engineer FragFailure who goes "Booga Booga!" and off he runs screaming.

Not only does he play like that he hasn't posted once on the boards being a pretty regular regular here you'd think eventually he'd communicate, but not one single peep. Has anyone ever heard him say anything to anyone? But he has to come here now to check his /skill since Robert E. Lee took it off the servers. Maybe he'll catch one of these posts one day.

I'm sure this is terribly obvious to anyone who's been around who it is, do I even have to give a hint to who it is, you all know who we're talking about.

Re: Teamplay Vs Self-stat-play.

In some ways deaths can reflect player initative, and even usually explicitly team-specific initiative.
Think of it as "taking one for the team." You know that scout that keeps coming & coming & capping, or that eng that keeps the your flag in the basement the whole game, at any cost to his/herself. The stats are awesome and fun, no doubt, but it can be so frustrating when everyone's hangin' back on defense and you're the only one laying it down on the line as the clock ticks out and the other team wins the round with one cap more than your team.
I definitely try to do as well as I can on the stats, to the point of checking several catagories daily, etc. But I think winning takes precedence at all times, even at the cost of more deaths.

PS: This didn't happen to me recently, it was a few weeks ago before crappy Excite @ Home / AT&T summarily cut off my cable for a week. (And they're only going to compensate me $22)

JD, I not sure why you don't come right out and name this player. I'm sure I know who you are talking about. His aim is excessively good as a solder. Is there an autoaim for soldiers? I was sure that he wasn't facing me on one shot last night that killed me. Can you detect such a modification other than through observation? This guy is extremely good or mod'd.

Just got back from playing 2 great games as medic and spy. The spy game ended up w/ me capping cp3 on TV3 and still keeping a score of 60-7. I nailed about 5 sg's and over a dozen mgs. The medic game started slow because people on my team were too afraid to go medic and heal people. I finished 52-10 and managed to keep about half my team from dying (and I pulled a secret servise and hopped in front of a demoman and got sniped ). People nowadays just refuse to do anything that benefits their team. I've also noticed that most teams i'm on are made up of people who say they aren't newbies but herd like sheep. I'm willing to train people but nobody ever asks.

Wait a sec. How is it an advantage for a soldier over an engineer? the emp takes out the soldier in one nice toss. Second, is it okay for you to ignore a teammate, let him die, nail the killer, and then cap it claiming, "It was for the team?" The teammates of the flagcarrier at least have to make an effort to save him.

If somebody wants to stay alive rather than be blown to bits, good for him... let him live. Let him run back to his base where he is no longer a threat to your team.

Maybe the guy only had 20 health left and knew a single shot gun blast would take him down. As somebody pointed out this is not a death match.... sooo why should we chastise him for NOT fighting??

I'm not saying his tactics are right, I'm just saying he shouldnt be punished for them.

Whats next? You kick some skill-less sniper who is still learning, and can't hit headshots properly yet?

I haven't been seriously playing TFC for very long, but one of the reasons I kept coming back to the 'Ville is that I noticed the "usually" great teamplay. As anyone who's played with me knows, I usually go medic, mainly because I like hearing the grunts of grown men as they die of some dirty disease. I usually end up with a pretty crappy score, but that's ok with me as long as we as a team do well. One thing that does piss me off is when some people look down on us lowly medics and call us names because they think we have dirty tactics, i.e. the hit and run infection. I would like to point out that there is nothing more distracting to the enemy than a medic running at them with the medkit out. I more people realized that and turned it to their advantage, I think something interesting could happen. One thing I've noticed is that the spy medic combo works well. On a side note, this is my last posting for awhile. I'm in the military and am being sent away to a very cold place with bad people all around for a very long time. So do me a favor, and write the names of your favorite terrorists onto some pineapples and throw them at your friends for me.
