The United Society 'Ville now has a server avabile for you guys to play on The server is runnin AdminOP and you will have to download some files before connectin, Theres bout 600+maps to vote on, Weve Taken a slightly differnt approach to Stats, instead we have credits which u can use to buy differnts weapons, powerup's etc...

Just asking as a question. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything. Don't you think that this might splinter The Ville even more? We have four TFC servers and barely seem to fill one server. Just curious.

I think, if anything, Osiris is inspiring growth of The Ville by not only providing a server but a completely new variation of a Ville server. It may not be an actual Ville server but I guarantee you, O is a great guy and will run it according to rules the Ville currently enforces. Will it take away from TheVille? No more than Pete's Avanti Dustbowl does. And O is running a small unknown server. If any actual numbers join this server before joining a Ville server, I would be amazed.

He posted it for you. You The Ville. The server is open to YOU all.

Although we may have to change our pass for USV night now. O you hoser!

Well we only use the server for USV nights And it would be ashamed to have $1500 worth of equipment just sittin around lookin pretty I dont see a problem with another server on, plus the main thing u gotta look at is this server has pretty much ever map ever released so if some1 wanted to join and play some random custom map he/she could join and vote for the map. I dont see how it could hurt maybe In a few months i'll switch it over to NS who kno's

You can also look at it like this. ..

In USV, we have chapters. Chapters represent everything USV stands for but also assume their own identity apart from USV.

Osiris's server is some what like a chapter of TheVille servers. It represents everything TheVille stands for but also has an identity of it's own. Now, it's not exactly the same because O's server is not currently endorsed by or considered a Ville server. Whereas, USV is d@#n proud to call jFf a chapter and consider them our extended family.

More than likely, O's server means that some server hosts can lay back and let someone else host an event here and there.

Doesn't chapters mean that the parent organization would have to agree with it/provide guidelines for the chapter?

Oh, and it's a passworded server right - do you think it's going to get any traffic?

To ANYONE reading this thread. This server is something that Osiris has given to all tfc villuns and a simple thankyou would suffice. Its not about USV or theville nor chapter this or that. It wont take away anything from theville but it may promote new maps ideas or whatever to the tfc community. Its about a server thats be made available to us all.

I don't understand why there is so much drama here. Simple questions have been asked, at least 2 from what I've read, and your coming back really defensive. I don't think any of it was intended as a flame war. Just curiousity about the intentions is all.

To Osiris: Thanks for bringing this server and for bringing it to our attention. Your explanation was the answer to the question I actually had.

O the server is great. Thanks for the effort and the time to put it all togather.

I think The Ville regulars that want to get togather on it and play a custom maps will thank you also. Who knows, they may find a map to request on the regular servers at The Ville and keep their interest alive.

Its all good and I will enjoy it.
