I've been a fan of Tolkein for years and I dont know how many times I have read the books but I can tell you that I was dissipointed in The fellowship and I am pretty sure that I will be dissipointed in the Two Towers too.
Why?
Its called 'artistic license' and they make far too many changes to the movie to even be considered accurate. Hell they replace characters, add whole new characters, invent plot and storyline that didnt exist and totally replace storyline with their own ideas of how things should have happened. I think JRR is rolling over in his grave due to how they have butchered his lifes works.
But I will still go to see the movie, if I dont I wont have anything to bitch about for the next year.

this one is supposed to be more accurate in terms of the book though.
also, another great movie is Equilibrium. It isn't showing everywhere, but it's on par w/ the greatest action films of all time. Think 1984 + the Matrix together . |

the only major changes in the fellowship is tom bombadil being taken out (probably because of time) and arwen becoming such an important character. As for adding characters i dont believe they made up any?? |

I got to see it on Wednesday, as I took off work with a co-worker and we both went at noon.
I am not sure it was better than the Fellowship to me, but I loved it still. I thought Gollum looked amazing.
Now, I didn't care for the books. Guess I am too used to modern books, or at least ones with no songs all through out them. I read the books last year, before the Fellowship came out. I was very disappointed in them. I probably had expectations that were too high, but so many people told me they were good.
Ah well, I love the movies...especially compared to the books. _________________ Been chasing since May 2001!
