The post says "for right now". I would assume that it is a server running from an office environment, and therefore it will only be a night/weekend server.
Don't know for sure though. _________________

It's a new server and I am sure there are some issues to be worked out. We had a full house of old farts last night and it got a bit chunky here and there but for the most part, it's an excellent server! _________________ Recipient of POTM award

Few things.
I switched some hardware around here so it will hopefully run smoother.
We are making sure the on/off timer works if we indeed change it from 24/7 to the same hours as tv1 in the future. Only way to know if this works for sure is to try it.
Danno is back from his trip and he is installing some final settings, and fine tuning it. ( The things I couldn't figure out )
We also brought the max player limit from 18 down to 16. I was noticing as soon as the server hit 18 players it would have problems. We are not sure what is causing it but for now.. 16 it is. 16 also works for both maps 2fort and well since they are smaller maps. Hopefully that can be resolved soon.
Thank you. _________________

The timer silver is talking about does not actually shut down the server. It controls the schedule for the TFC (HLDS) service. There are utilities that will allow you to schedule shutdowns...but your pc needs to be ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) compliant. To see if your pc is using ACPI open Device manager and expand the computer icon. It will say standard PC or ACPI PC. |

I may be wrong but I think he is just shutting down the HL Server program and not the Server itself, as far setting a pc to shut down at a certain time, thats an interesting question _________________ Killing is my bidness ladies and BIDNESS IS GOOD!!!! |
