|
|
I have been at this for a while. I am trying to get my computer to run faster than 20fps during times. If I am staring at a blank wall, I can get 70 fps, but if I am even staring out into avanti, I get only about 15 fps. I would like to be able to get 30 fps if that is possible, which I think it should.
My system:
FIC VA-503+ motherboard based on the VIA MVP3 chipset
AMD K6-2 500 mHz processor @ 500 mHz
128 MB PC133 RAM clocked at AGP speed
Geforce2 MX 400 64 Meg AGP in a 2x slot
20 gig hard drive
Windows 98 SE
Sound Blaster PCI 128
an ISA LAN card
a 52x cd-rom drive
I hope that will help someone solve my problem. _________________ I need to make a sig, but I don't have the time. Maybe I will eventually. |

well since Half-Life isn't very graphic intensive, all you'd need is probably a slight upgrade in processor speed.
I used to run TFC on a
Pentium 700
geForce2 32mb
20GB harddrive
256 MB RAM
Win98se
and got about 60 fps. Rata used to run on a geForce2 all the time too, so your graphics card isn't the problem most likely. You also might want to add another 128 of RAM as well. A bit more RAM and Processor speed would probably help alot. _________________ World of Warcraft:

More memory will always help...but if that's not possible you need to make sure your not runnning a bunch of crap in the background. If you have a bunch of little icons in yer task tray then those apps are all using up yer memory. First place to look is in yer startup folder. Remove everything you can from there, everything in the startup folder starts when windows loads...and stays running in the background. Another place to look is the run tab in the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
WARNING you should export that key somewhere BEFORE you start deleting anything.
After you clean all the startup apps reboot and try playin again...hopefully this will help you pick up a few frames!
