well ppl. the fire fighters in the uk maybe goin on strike in the next few days. they held a ballet and the results should b announced soon. (may of been already i didnt c the news today)
is cos fire fighters only get around £22,000 a year. n they want an increas to £30,000 a year.
i personally htink they should get this 40% rise in pay that there askin for. cos they do a brill job. but the government are only offerin then 4%.
and so im prety sure what the outcome of the ballet will be
so the fire fighters in the uk will be goin on strike.
so instead of 3000+ fire engines coverin the uk, with skilled fire fighters, the army will have to provide fire cover. . and instead of 3000+ engines there will only be 900 army engines converin the uk
omfg. .
i not lookin forward to the next week or two. _________________

LOL, that should be fun. There's at least one fire alarm every week up here in any of the Halls of Residence, and there isn't even a full time service in St. Andrews |

well i live in a town with a large fire station. about 6/7 engines. and 1 specialist engine thas on call for the vale of glamorgan. and in my town there's like fire all the time. idiots burnin out cars. house fires. etc. you always hear the sirens at some point during the day. and fireworks have just started goin on sale. and is pathetic shopkeepers sell them ta kid.. i mean 8 yr olds. i dont mean lil fire crackers now i mean they sell full blown fireworks to them. and with no fire service .
well there is the comfort that there is an airport only 5/10 min from me town. and the firestation in me town is mean to support that. in a large scale emergence. but it looks like in the next few weeks. that them nice lil airport firefighters maybe needed of the airport for a few calls. _________________

So did Vegas!! MGM Grand in the 80's, a rocket fuel plant not that long ago. Not to mention the mushroom clouds that used to linger in our horizon. _________________

well it looks like the strike is all set to go ahead next week. and unions from other thins like rail/tub, and theaters cinemas and all that are now thinkin of walkin out at the same time, not im support cos that illegal, but because they say there not going to work cos it will be too dangerouse without addequate fire cover. so it looks like the uk could come to a standstilll ova this.
o and talkin of big fires. there was a huge fire last night in blackpool. it took 20 fire engines and 100+ fire fighters workin all night and all day today to get the blaze under controle. and these are highly skilled firefighters with state of the art equipment. just think. if somthin like this happens next week then whereever it happens will be stuffed. cos the equipment the army has. (green goddesses) are like 40+ years old and thas all thas gonna be supplyin fire cover for the uk. is 900 of these thins instead of 3000+ state of the art fire engines .
one thing the fire fighters have said though. is if there's any major accident. like a rail accident. terrorist thing. or anythink really really seriouse then they will respond. as they said ppl's lives are more important than there pay. enven though there pay is important. so basically unless there's a magor incident then all we got is 40+ yr old equipment bein used by the army, which are no where near as well trained and skilled in fire fighting as profetional fire fighters. _________________
