at home i have a decent cpu with a cable connection and TF runs perfect for me. well here be my problemo. when i go over my moms house on some days TF used to run good. its on a 56k modem and running of a celeron so i dont expect it to be perfect. i actually god pretty used to the lag and stuff. well my mom had to reinstall windows for some reason(shes pretty close to being cpu illiterate, she only uses it to type up papers for school. she claims she didnt cause it to need to reinstall windows but i think otherwise ) so i reinstalled hl and updated it from my dads house then burned the update and brought it here. simple so far. but ever since i reinstalled it it has been running terribly. there is occasionally lag but i dont think that is causing the problem. i average around 200 ping here which is pretty good for 56k. it runs choppy and pauses occasionally and my net graph flips out but its not from ping. any ideas on what could be causing my problems or what i can maybe do to if not fix the problem but make tf at least playable. if you have any ideas please tell me because a day without the ville is torture, well maybe not that bad but close .
thanks

You might have some stuff running in the back ground that you didn't have running before. _________________

Yeah, especially if the "reinstall windows" disc was actually a "product recovery CD" from someone like HP... there's almost as much spamware on those as there is in KaZaA |
