Can someone tell me how to convert a .mdl to a .ms3d file?

AFAIK there is no way to directly convert a model from .mdl to .ms3d, but you still can load the model. What you need to do is not in the load menu, but one off to the sides (I forget exactly, sorry). You need to recompile the .mdl to .smd, .bmp and .qc. You should find the option somewhere. After you do that you can open the .smd files (each smd file is for each sequence the model will be in, so if your model will only be idle there will only be 1 smd, but if you have a character model you can have well over 100 smd files). The .bmp file will be the textures aplied to the model faces. Then once you have changed the smd files you can compile the .qc file again to create a .mdl (same menu I believe). |
