For the past week or two my downloading speed has been ridiculously low. Here's a pic:

It all started when i got the program TweakMaster, which tweaks the settings to allow the net to run faster but it did the opposite for me. I went back to my favorite site www.optimizing.net and went back through the steps to make the net faster. What the TweakMaster did was changed my settings back to Windows 98 defaults. Well, when 98 first came out the default settings were for 28.8kbps modems. I did some of the steps on www.optimizing.net but none really helped until I did this one:

What you do is go to the Run Program dialog box under the start menu and type "sysedit." Then you go to the search menu and click find. You then type "port" and click enter. You go to the port that your modem is on (for example, COM1) and change that numbers to what is showed in the pic below:

I then restarted my comp and started downloading the same file from the same place and got this:

I haven't yet tried out TFC since I haven't been able to move for the last week or two either so I should find a better ping.

I still hate AOL, but it can live a little longer, i suppose.

My ping was normally about 250 with AOL.
