arrggg...stupid stupid stupid patch

well i finally figured out what was wrong, after TWICE more rendering my HL unplayable since i finalyl got back on tv3 yeserday (yay so happy)....the problem was the ati_hl_fix patch and the 1110 update togheter, so anyone with a radeon card and reinstalling hl, DO NOT use the fix or it will fuX0r up your hl....the overflow thing has been fixed i think becasue it runs fine without the fix...anyways my TFC is FINALLY working again...now all i need to do is get some skill back...

My father and I can't stand radeon cards..

We perfer Nvidia instead.

It all depends on what you want to do with the card. Pure gaming, Nvidia is probably the route. Video editing/gaming/etc. the Radeon would probably be the better choice.

DK = Nvidia Ti4600 128MB card = Roxor.

Key thing is really really really good drivers with sound hard ware.

Hey PS, I use a ATI Rage Fury R128 AGP card. I also have the patch installed.

I had problems returning back to my desktop after clicking
on the TFC Shortcut. This was corrected by installing the ATI Fix
after the CD was installed. (Not the HL CD, 1110.exe, then the patch)

I am still getting a Stack Dump Error after exiting every game of TFC that forces me to reboot after every game for some reason ? #alien

yea i get the probelm after exiting HL of it not goign back to desktop, but if i use the patch it wont work at all...it only does that if i dont exit directly form a game though...hmmm....stupid ATi needs to get thier act together with drivers! and valve with teh stupid patches that cause more problems than they fix! and MS for crappy OSs! and intel for making crappy CPUs...wait that doesnt afftect me...bahaha...the other ones though BAD BAD BAD

PondScum, You wouldn't by chance be using Gamespy would you ?
If so, what I found was that after quitting a game of tfc and return
to the menu. Do not choose Quit but instead pick Multiplayer.

After this pick Quit and exit completely. This way you exit without having anything messing up.
