Server Hopping Tip

Ever wanted to go from Ville server to Ville server in a matter of seconds? Say you're on TV1 and you want to go to TV5. The only thing you have to do is bring down your console and type:

connect tv5.theville.org

That's it! All of the servers have DNS names so it makes it very simple going from server to server.

Server names:

tv1.theville.org
tv2.theville.org
tv3.theville.org
tv5.theville.org
tv6.theville.org
theprivateserver.theville.org

Make sure when you connect to TV5 it's tv5.theville.org:27016 or else it will go to some random hl server, and for me atlest, crash tfc. I've used those shortcuts since I can remember. Thanks Rob.

is that why i havent been able to find tv5 -- cos its 27016 and not 27015 -- dam

Yes Bobins you can, except for the f1 and f2 keys. Don't even try those 2 but the rest are OK.

You can bind F1 and F2... Rename the demoeditor.dll and gameui.dll files in your valve/cd_dlls folder to something like .bak, and you can bind the keys. You lose the functions the keys originally had, but they are pretty useless.

Rob, can you point me in the right direction to create GUI links to all the ville servers in my SHIFT menu? I know I've seen this done in the past, but I cant remember what files I need to alter.
