have you been on tv5 lately

i was in their on my own on avanti waiting for other peps to join -- while i was waiting i was practicing capping the points by jumpng to them with a solly -- everything was fine when i was on da blue team -- but when i switched to red -- the gates were open from the start

-- and when the time for the gates to open had past instead of them opening ( as they were already open ) they closed

i have never seen this happen b4 so whats up with avanti n tv5

It happens every so often, it's a bug in the map.

Well, that is a well known glitch which requires a map reset. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, if there are a bunch of people there... it is a good idea to let the offensive team cap 1 and 2 without killing them. If you do not, then the gates will be closed after that and they will be stuck behind them.

Yes that is right. block the door from closing and it will go back up.
Then a little door opens up at the bottom of the town where you will find aspirin.

Were you changing teams during the black screen time?? I had the same thing happen to me Bobins and I found out that if there is a team change in the time between capturing the church and respawning that it will do this. It's only after you cap though. NOw during the "black screen time theere is a noise that sounds like your respawning yet the screen is still black, after that noise it is OK to switch teams.

I sure know how to make a long story even longer

Yes the gates can be fixed if someone stands under when they close. But if that doesn't happen, then just pray that your team caps 2

I know you were doing that just as practice on your own, but the amount of times that happens during a proper game, when some llama comes along and continues to change teams after capping 4, just so he can be on the offensive team... grrr! I say why the gates stay open, then close, then I type "DON'T SHOOT", then I type "LET THEM CAPTURE POINT 2". Then I get asked ten minutes later, again, how they can all get through the gates... Do they pay attention? NO! Gnnnn! Fzzzzz!
