Stat Head Hunt

That's right. I as Bak am tired of seeing these stat heads sit back in the wings of a game afraid of getting killed. Because of this I am starting something today that I am going to call stat head hunt. Everyday before I get on any of TV servers I will look at the top 5 and remember the names, once I join a server watch out top 5 stat heads. They will not be the only ones targeted. If I see any other stat heads in the game they will be targeted. Just thought I'd give a fair warning snipers, if you hear a click or footsteps, run.

You are not going to change the way they play, and nor should you be trying. Most of these people have low ping rates and are very used to having spies hunting them down. All you did was to tell them that your on you way.
Being POTW means nothing, it just means you don't get killed, simple as that.
The only way people will change if they are stat orientated is, to change the stats program.

Hey Kamikaze, this is by no means a complaint on your post. I just want to let you know that I enjoy playing sniper. I dont do it for the stats, as I am one of the idiot snipers on the front lines. Just look at my stats. I'm happy to see my name on the first two pages sometimes.

Anyway the point is, I think it is fun when I have a private game battle between me and someone else. Like yesterday Bada Bing kept coming up to me as a spy and stabbing me. This hurt and I kept dying, so I was shooting everything that moved backwards. Not really, but it seemed like every other kill was me shooting him. Then he would come and kill me.

People with good honest stats, have skill. Skill involves being able to cap someone as they hunt you

So now I'll be looking for you and Bak.

Lets not see this post turn out like the last one did. Play the game as you see fit. If you are loosing stat points because you are dying dont complain about. Just get better at playing your class.

And to all spies out there. Go easy on me and let me die a soldiers death...

Hey, i've made a regular practice of taking down the stat heads ever since I came to the ville. Anyone who has played enemy sniper knows EXACTLY what I mean. And it's fun too. Welcome to the carnage kami!

When I used to push to be in the top 5. I always respected those who tried to take me down. Made it that more of a challenge.

I fell that i'm not a stat head although I'm second in the ratings right now. I know that bak was not a stat head when he won his P.O.T.W's and would you have still targeted him. I want to know how others feel about this and how you fee about my style of play. Please post you thoughts and opions.

I say bring it on! I like when spys come and try to take me or my teams SG's out, it helps all of us to hone our spy spotting skills. I wont say that I am great at it, but I do take out a fair number of spys, the only problem is they keep coming, wont they just stay dead? Damn, I guess I need to switch to CS.

My tactics change per class. Sold/Eng are the main classes I play. As a Soldier I always have about as many deaths as kills from taking out SGs. Eng I hang back more but have no prob rushing to set a SG or take a flag to a cap point. Stats only mean one thing to me, it lets me see what I am doing with certain weapons. The rank part is nothing special. At times when I feel a rush coming I will hang back and get ready for it. I have been called a stat whore for doing that(only once), but stoped our team from losing as well. Calling out that you are hunting ppl is lame. Just do it if you are going to and let ppl play how they feel.

Just remember it is a game. if stats whoring is fun to them, then let them enjoy it. It is all about what you find fun and doing it.

Once again people bring the past up. Apache perhaps you should read the replies I made at the end of the post. I'm not as radical as Kami (although I know several people who pop into a game and play backlines often). It's not hard to get up there in POTW backlining. Actually I'd admire more the people who go front line and take risks (Frag, Beandaddy, Warhammer, and Lord Briman, who seems to have vanished, but most of all Albino Gibbon who has to be one of the best demomen out there) There are countless among us who take risks and enjoy th game.

Bak - I did read your replies, I just wanted to catch you on line and talk to you about it.
The only reason I reference you ws it ws only yesterday it ws still being discussed, so though yesterday is in the past, its not that distant.
As for your replies, I think nothing less of you because of your posts. You just expressed something that I just happened to take as an insult, so your apology is obviously accepted on that count. For the record I consider most of the regulars to be far more skillful players than I do, including you. (OK - if I had better ping time I could probably give most of the snipers a run for their money as I have watched and learned from them where to stand etc... the only thing that usually stops me is a crap ping (300 against 80 odd makes it hard to get your shot off first)I know I'm not the greatest player, I'm still very new to TFC, but no one likes to be told (or where its implied) that they suck, even if they do.
