I used to leave mines on 24/7. If the puter stays in standby for a long time it'll lockup while it's in standby! |

The Average computer set up uses 20 to 40 dollars a year of electricity depending on your cost of power.
now if you want to save 1/3 of that get a LCD monitor.
Good luck, restricting a TFC habit is not easy! |

Yes, absolutely, I use a screen saver. Thank goodness I have a fast processor so that it goes away the instant I touch my mouse or a key, otherwise, I'd have to shoot it. _________________

Restricted use of the comp huh. I would go nutz. Gotta get my dose of gibs everyday or I'd go crazy. And OBH, 4 computers on all the time !!!!!!!! I thought I had it bad, geez. Just in case you have to go to the bathroom in game, right?? That's an incredible amount to me. _________________

Most computer setups don't use THAT much energy. You have a 300-400 watt power supply on the computer (equivalent to having a few lightbulbs on) and the power the monitor draws. I have many units running non-stop and it may cost me a extra few bucks a month. Tell your mom you will pay her back with hugs and kisses. _________________ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |

i dont personaly think that the comp is responsible for generating the £40 extra on the bill -- but my mum wont have non of it -- and then she says -- "even if it isn't the comp -- i dont want you using the comp as much "
and Al that was the first thing i tryed -- lol |

Mine used to do that and then suddenly one time it gave me this message saying 'The last few times your computer went into hibernate, it stopped responding. Would you like to stop it from doing this?'
I told it yes, and, go fig, it doesn't do it anymore. Now it shuts down the computer, and when i turn it back on, it gives me this 'returning to windows' loading bar, and everything is like when i left it when i turn it back on.
I would imagine there is some manual way to do that, so, maybe you could look into it mikey. _________________
