I admit that I used to do it too, but when you're about to die from an infection don't suicide. It's one thing if you're in a highly populated area, but it's really gets me depressed when I infect a group of people and a minute later I see 4 suicides. But on the other hand, (I'm sure a more detailed post will be made by someone the a medic who was respawn infecting on TVI) it's also rude of a medic to infect a respawn. IT's understandable if you accidentally do it once when it's your first timeon maps like Avanti, but more than that I think to be extremely inconsiderate.

What's your opinion?

I always go on a death run into enemy territory so I don't spread and I don't have to suicide

But seriously, if you're infected and just HAVE to stay around near teammates, try not to go near them and whatever you do, DO NOT GO INTO RESPAWN!! It's so dang annoying to repawn and get automatically infected by a stupid teammate waiting for a medic that isn't even there.

i usually charge -- either kill as much as possible or at least touch as many opposition players as poss -- then the infection is spread to their team -- lol -- bet the medic is wishing he hadden't messed with me -- he's got a whole team to heal now -- or let em die -- hehe -- lol

AFter infection:

1. Swear (in your head of course! not in game! we have 10-yr olds [aka llamas] playing this game remember?)
2. Yell in vain for medic (but they are never there)
3. GET THE HELL OUT OF FRIENDLY TERRITORY (you have no idea how much you will piss off your friends)
4. Prime your most destructive nade
5. Find that cursed medic (other nmes work just as well for ventilating your anger)
6. BooM!

I check to see if there's a medic on my team. If there is none, I shoot my teammates until I get low enough from mirror damage to blow up by holding a grenade.

Medics are foul and dastardly, their infection is a cheap way of fighting so I don't like them to get the pleasure of getting kills for it, plus I don't want to spread it and give them more kills. Get out there and fight or cap the flag and stop spreading your STDs!

Some medics on my team when I play don't heal anyone. Im standing infront of them with a red cross above my head and they go the other way.

It sounds like my boys aren't doing their jobs very well...

Just so you know, many times we medics don't notice that someone is in need of attention. But if I'm on your team and I hear you call for a medic, or type in the chat, I'll come find you. But please...be specific with your location...I'm not a mind reader, nor do I like playing hide and seek while you slowly go the way of the dodo bird.

having played med a lot and being a skilled one(in my opinion), i have found that infecting their team is not the best way to win, healing your team is.

many people just go around infecting while say a hw is clearing a path to the cp, if the med was there pumping up the hw, he would get through allowing the team to cap.

also, the medkit is not the most effective weapon a med has, the shotty is. a good med ALWAYS uses his nades, concs, and shotty. the only time he infects is when it is close and if it is a full hw, infect and run.

btw, i kill myself most of the time while infected. you can do suicide runs but 99% of the time you end up infecting another member on your team. killing yourself is IMO the best way to handle while infected.

then the infection is spread to their team

For the record... No it doesn't.

I find typing kill in the console or suiciding when infected is about as cheap as doing the same when you are on the ground and getting beaten to death with a crowbar. The -entire point of the infection- is to make it spread. I don't even use it because people are cheap and -do- kill themselves. I might as well hammer away at you with my shotgun at that point, rather than infect you, have you kill me as i run away, and then type kill.

This isn't to say you shouldn't charge the enemy with all guns blazing. That's a fine idea. Suiciding to typing kill is still being lame though, to me.

yeah, jeez, suicide into enemy or something, but typing kill is just unfair, takes the kill away from them.

I offen feel that when I read posts about medics infecting they are directed at me. Yes I do this on a regular basis but I would like to think that I help my team as well. I have communicated before in game that I will do whatever it takes as long as it is fair to slow opposition down.I always thought that the medics role in tfc was:

1. heal your team from infection, and if you call for a medic let him know where you are and dont run away when we fine you.

2. create as much chaos as possible within the enemy ranks "ie infect" to slow do there advance, if you have time during your run pull out your guns.

3. depending on the cap point keep your teams health AND help get engy bags to the maximum. Newbies leave the bags alone unless YOU need them cause your engy needs them a hell of a lot more than you.

4. when all your other duties are done cap the damn flag.

Now if this is not the medics role then would someone kindly correct me since it's gets a little tiring hearing the same complaints over and over.

Oh the question, suicide or not hard to say depends on map, where you are on map, and situation at hand ie: are you alone on D with no help where suicide will result in your flag being snatched. If everything looks good and you have the time then suicide, I mean why not its just a medics cheap way of fighting so why give him credit for a cheap kill.
