I didn't think so until this extremely irritating guy got on tonight and "urged" the team on with helpful comments like, "C'mon Move it!" and "HELLO...We're attacking, not defending. Move it". But my favorite had to be the question that can generate no useful response..."What are you guys DOING?"
I guess if I was a raw recruit in need of a drill sergeant, he'd be just the thing. However... he was less than inspiring.
It was more annoying then, now I just find it funny. But it raises an ethical dilemma.
When is someone like this really too much to take? I mean how far would they have to go before an admin bans them? Perhaps we should discuss some preliminary guidelines regarding... tone of voice, criticism of other players, and usefulness of comments, and maybe standing in theVille community. LOL, I'm joking, but it might have to happen at some point. I know one person on there tonight would have kicked him if he could have. But in all the guy was harmless, so I'm not sharing his name for ridicule.

Your best bet here is to take matters into your own hands.
Just hold down the tab button, and click any mouse button. A cursor will become active, and you can just click any of your team mates to shut them up permanintly. I'm not sure, but I think the game keeps a list of all the people you have shushed, so they will be mute the next time you play with them.
Of course this only cuts out one of the many ways a llama can be ruin your game, but I think it should fix the situation you described. |

Well, I llamaed a player who was holding his mike up to a stereo, but that didnt stop him. We need an admin_mod command that deals with voice abuse.
yes, everyone can ignore the player and that may be the only option for now, but the otheer option is to turn voice off on the server I guess.

Don't do that [i.e. turn off voice support]! I was just considering buying a good NC mic to use with the game. In fact at some point in the future I would like to see a game organized in which someone is voted "commanding officer" who orchestrates the teams efforts. Just don't vote me as CO since I do not have enough experience.

This is more an FYI, than a response. Sorry...
But I just wanted to let the regulars know that I have the voice comm shut off completely, so I can't hear anybody ever. I have tried it with it on, but things slow down, especially my connection seems to (56k!).
So, I am not ignoring you if you say something...lol...I am just deaf.
Oh, and even if I could play with it on, I really don't want it on. Could lead to too many people trying to order others around. Much easier to do with voice than typing, and I don't need or want that at all. I play my way, not somebody else's. |
