Thinking about hoasting TV5....

I might get another comp that I can hoast it from. Hopefully I can get one, so we can have TV5 again. Just talk to me and tell me how to do it and how u want it and I will do my best to fufill ur wishes. As of now, i cannot becuz I need that extra comp, but eventually(hopefully within a few months) I can get one and hoast to server from there. Until then, I may be able to hoast an undedicated server from my existing comp that plays the TVB maps. Once again just talk if u r interested...

well im obviously not an admin or anything -- you'll have to take this to them.

but if you wont to host TV5 and b able to cope with a minimum of 22 players -- 20 player spaces and 2 admin -- then this new comp o your's is gona have to b emense and you will need a very good internet connection e.g. broud band T1 or T3 type of connection -- i dont wont to put a dampner on your idea -- as it would b great to have TV5 back but they are the facts -- u will need a really - really good machine to b able to cope with the number of players

unless you're on a t3/oc-3 or higher connection.. don't bother hosting.. dsl/cable servers suck.

Does hosting require my computer to be running nothin but TFC? I'd host it on my college's OC3 if I could, but atm my computer also has a tendancy to lock up/get rebooted periodicly.

I want to do it but I run on cable. i have enough gigs and it would be up 24/7. I have 14 gigs so I know I have enough space. If there was ne way y'all (im southern) would let me I would.

I think the wanted requirements here is that you have at least a dedicated T1 and higher. Cable and DSL are to unstable as far as bandwidth goes. Also a stand-alone server, not one that you paly on at the same time. The server should be a haus. With plenty of processing power to run Avanti and plenty of memory. But as said before PM Rob and discuss it with him.
