Here we are, another poem. This one is about my crappy bout of insomnia last night. I couldn't sleep, and eventually fell asleep at 7:30

full.

I lay awake
Eyes closed aching for dream
turn once again
to no avail

The red face mocks me
laughing at my misery
return to my back

I shove my head under my pillow
block out all light
block out all sounds
feebly attempt to sleep

2:25
my eyes hurt
head pounding
I contemplate staying up

Sleep eludes
I'm thinking too much
thoughts about nothing
trivial

Mental ocean blocks my sleep
can't quell the flow
Resists my efforts
to just silence my mind

4:56
its getting late
or is it getting early
I sit up

Its no use
I throw back the covers
exit the room
Leave the clock

I turn on the TV
Gentle glow eases my brain
calms my thoughts
numbs my mind

ten to seven
The kind analog greets my eyes
black needles
black numbers

Darl says
...You must empty yourself for sleep...
I return to bed
mind empty

There it is. Whaddaya think??

LOL, I'm sure we can all sympathize with you there dude! I know I've spent many nights like that!

I bet I know what you were thinking about the whole night too... "Ooooh, plexiglass windows... cooling fans.... dremil tools...."
