I see lots of you are in the IT industry. The worst part of being the IT Manager is the stupid lusers.

I just had a 15 minute discussion with a luser on what winzip is and how to use it.

She gets all huffy and stomps out of my office. It's winzip how can anyone be so stupid that they can't use it.

I'm not talking about some 70 year old partner at my firm, I'm talking about a 24 year old paralegal that's been to college and used computers all her life. Someone have a pad I can borrow for my monitor? I don't wanna damage it banging my head on it.

Ever see that Saturday Night Live about "Your Company's IT Guy". Chris Kattan is the IT manager in some office building and has to go around and fix these stupid problems with people's computers and makes fun of them.

Ive been dying to see one of those as ive been told im kind of an A Hole to the people I help. Sometimes the questions they ask are just beyond the "are your kidding me" realm.

When I first moved into this house, I asked everyone if DSL was available in this area. The general response was "what's that?" Even the freegin phone company rep asked me that when I was getting my phone turned on. It wasn't until I put it into simpler terms that she got it... FAST ACCESS. And I believe the only reason she got it then is because that just happen to be the actual name of the service. BellSouth FastAccess.
