Okay. This is just a post for me to get some issues off my chest with all
of you newer players out there...

1) See my post under Favorite Maps - Don't Stand In Front of the Snipers.
And don't run in front of us, if you can help it. When we are sighting,
we can't see you.

2) Grenades - I actually had someone tell me, the other day, that I was
playing sniper "wrong" because I was using grenades. Hey, my grenades
work the same as everyone else's. And I would think it would make most
of you happy that I was getting myself in a position to use them rather than
staying strictly on defense.

3) Respawn spamming - I have noticed an increase in respawn spamming/
attacks. Sometimes by TV addicts. And what's worse, when I say something
in the game, I get told to lay off. What the hell are the rules for if no one is
interested in holding people accountable?

4) Talking - What is it with people that they need to carry on a 10 minute
conversation on the channel? Just play the damned game. (Thankfully,
there is a mute function.)


Anyway...those are the most annoying things that I can think of, at this moment. Feel free to add your own.

Which map are the respawns getting spammed and which respawn. Ex. it is ok to spam Respawn 1 on Avanti, but not on the other respawns.

Ya, what map are you talking about anyway. If its the respawns on Warpath I will do all I can to kill the sniper inside the respawn hiding out. I dont think that respawn should be a safe haven for him.

On Avanti, the attacking respawns for caps 3 & 4, and respawn 4 for defenders.

And then there are the respawns on all the other maps...Rock2, Warpath (not so much), and Well.

The respawns in Well have been flooded with spy gas over the last week or so. Whenever I say something about it, I get rude comments about whining and stuff. When I can't get out of my spawn without losing half of my health and armor, I'm gonna say something about it. Especially when I see spies tossing nades like candy into the open spawn doors when there is noone near where they're dropping them.

I support you, there, blown. It is really lame when someone hides in a respawn.

Particularly out in the center, near cap 3.

I guess spies are the worst, at the first 2 respawns heading toward the nme
base.

Of course, now that I think about it...the spies are the worst for most all
of the respawn issues.

I think the spy grenades in the respawns are little different from other types of spam. That is obviously not in an attempt to kill the people spawning, but rather get someone heading back there also to caues hallucinations to the people exiting respawn. I've never complained about this because I thought it was an exception if you will. I've not heard a contrasting point of view from and admin so I'm just gonna leave it how i feel about it,

If a spy does it, fine, just lets me know there is one around and that he migth still be in the attic. And as for me, i have better uses for my gas grenades

I was the one who complained about this. The reason being, I was a medic on Offense. I need the grenades to take out sg's and get the flag. While you, who was sniper, strictly stay in your sniper nest. And for the fact that snipers hardly stay alive long enough to use all there nades. While me need them to conc past sg's and defenders and such. That was why I asked "Why do u need nades when you're sniper?".

If the gas is able to get the people as they respawn there is a problem, If they do that again, Snaggletooth, I'll be more than happy to come in and "talk" to the people who are doing it and calling people who complain about it whiners.

The grenades are on a first come first serve basis......but use team sense when going for grenades. If another class would use them better why not let them take them first, there may be a Sentry Gun that needs exploding, or conc jumping to be done, or a big pack of people or Sentry Guns that need to be MIRVed or EMPed

Since I remember you correcting me I'm gonna go ahead and return the favor I don't really think it is a matter of 'need', because everyone 'needs' grenades, but more a matter of priority, and I for one believe that snipers fall at the bottom of the priority list for nades.

LOL! Thank you compter. Now we are even. And yes, of course every class needs grenades. But one class that can do just fine without them is sniper. I mean when really do you get in close combat battles. Especially on 2fort. I wasn't trying to tell you how to play your class just trying to get the flag for the team. And when you take grenades which are pretty much useless for snipers on 2fort, that means I have to wait for the nades so there goes time spent doing nothing while I could of been getting the flag. But this is all my opinion. If you think it's alright to take nades away from players who need them more, do as you will.

Actually, it was a soldier on TV5 last night, that got me going. But it has
happened before. And I do try to defer to other classes before I take them. But he had just come up right as I was leaving. It wouldn't kill him
to wait 5 seconds for a new set.

Anyway, we've had this discussion before so it's not worth debating the pros
and cons of snipers and nades. I do let others take before me, so it bugs
me when someone bitches when I do finally take some.

Actually defensive scouts fall at bottom of priority list. I grumble when I see a sniper grad the nades on 2fort as he heads for the balcony and never tosses even 1 of his original 2 let alone the extra he grabbed. To me it isn't a matter of need or priority as much as it is intent. If you intend to use the nades great, but if you are just some pack grabbing idiot then LEAVE THE NADES ALONE PLEASE. The sniper gets no special grenade so should defer to other classes when possible.

Most snipers don't use their nades so people feel snipers shouldn't grab them, but I for one usually use my nades on avanti even as a sniper. I've been told I don't need the nades as a Defensive medic on avanti ? I use the conc to get up on the balcony or to concuss the HWs that are giving us grief. I will usually give preference to someone that has a more powerfull grenade in the special or is using their nades well. But the nades are a first come first serve item and noone really has the right to tell someone else they don't have a right to take the nades.
