Bad news.. We just had our plugged pulled by our web hosting company. We transferred over 11 Gig of patches in the last 2 days. It seems we violated there Acceptable Use Policy.

SECTION 5.3
(vii)
the primary purpose is non-http compatible file distribution, including but not limited to the distribution of the following file types: .arj, .mp3, .exe, .tar, .rar, or .zip

Basically this means we won't be able to host anymore patches, now or in the future.

Thanks for putting up the links to the patch Rob...sorry if we got you into trouble. It was really nice to be able to download the patches without waiting in a line forever. Oh well...thanks Rob.

This is quoted from http://www.recongamer.com/webhosting/

Web Hosting » Features

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recon Gamer is connected via multiple OC-48 lines directly to the internet. Your pages, even during peak hours, will be served at lightning speeds. As if that wasn't enough, check out the other cool stuff we offer below:

Unlimited Space:
Your site will be entitled to as much space as needed so long as the files and content uploaded to your site are relevant to your site focus. No junk files!

Unlimited Bandwidth:
You will receive unlimited bandwidth. Once again, so long as the files and content are relevant to your site focus.

Software:
- Windows 2000 Server.
- Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0
- ActivePerl 5.6 (.pl and .cgi) with your own CGI-Bin
- SSI (Server Side Include)
- PHP 4.1 (.php, .phtml, .php3)
- Cold Fusion 4.5 (.cfm)
- ASP (Active Server Pages)
- SQL Server 7.0
- MySQL 3.23
- Microsoft Access Database
- Microsoft FoxPro Database
- Visual InterDev 6.0
- FrontPage 2000/98/97 Support.

I've been using them for about a month and have been very satisified with the service.

{edit}After checking out some more things I've decided that this is for their website hosting program and not the website offered as part of their game server package. I could not find how much bandwidth transfer was allowed on the second package. The website hosting package might be something that would interest you Rob, but I do not know.{/edit}

You still shouldn't have to use fileplanet for this or future patches. Check http://www.bluesnews.com for a list of mirrors of the patches and other files. There are plenty of web servers, like this one, who are willing to host files with no lines. Start at this page: http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=34471
