NO CDKEY HAXORING!!!!!
I have no idea what you are trying to do, but if it has anything to do with piracy, I will let you know that that is HIGHLY frowned upon at the Ville, and it is in fact a Federal Offense.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Valve/Half-Life/Settings look for a value called key.
I have no comment on the piracy(in general, not hl piracy), besides long live file sharing!

There are valid reasons to alter your CD Key. For example we have at LEAST three legal CD Keys. At one point we managed to install the same disk/key on two computers and had to alter the CD Key.
Soooo... Calm down.

basically i have to do what cycomom said. my bro installed halflife on his cpu with my cd key. he bought a new half life disk and wants to play online with me. so instead of reinstalling it i just want to change the cd key from mine to his. youll start to see him on the ville his name i believe is gonna be BobtheBum. a little pun on my name JacktheHomeless.

Go into the registry editor, start->run-type regedit in the box. Then expand the trees for every thing I gave you, so first you would hit the + next to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER box, and so on. Then once you got to the last one, look in the right pane for a valve called "key".
