Question regarding hits recorded by the server.

I was playing a game of TFC the other night(not on the theville sorry) and I noticed that I would shoot people and hear thumps of the impact but no kills. In fact the only shots that I can get to go were direct body shots.

The only thing that was different was the admin was playing on the server. I'm curious as to what would cause that to happen? Is the combo of admin and server putting to much of a strain on the server?
Or is it my configs? I do toggle my pushlatency and rate throughout the game.

It was such an odd effect I'm just curious to it's cause. Oh yeah I was playing sniper if that helps any.

Did you actually kill anybody?

If not, maybe the admin was messing around and put god mode on everybody.

If you did kill somebody, I am not sure.

I haven't played with you so I don't know how skilled you are. I'm assuming that you had your rifle charged and couldn't kill them (instead of being a newbie and not charging and wondering why no one was dying).

Headshots are sometimes elsive. I've gone many frags without getting a headshot (the server lies I tell you). Maybe you were just a little off?

About you hearing hits and them not dying. Could you have been shooting a spy? Also, do you have client side shot prediction on? Either of these things could explain your problem on the lack of kills. (It cannot, however, explain the headshot issue.)

Yes my weapon was charged, and I took the time to make sure I charged it for a good long time. Spies -no- I was on a sniping server.

It acted like the server couldn't figure out where I was and my target was. That's why I thought it was a config issue. I'll be honest it was going both way, I was getting hit I could hear the thud on me and not get hurt.

As far as godmode goes, no people were still dying. It was mostly the fast ping guys vs the fast ping guys thats where the problem was.

that happens to me occasuonally, i hear myself get shot, usually by a higher ping sniper, but i take no damage..
guess each comp inteperets it differntly..
try leading the target just eversolittle...

I also found shoot at the feet to help alot. I think your right about the computer trying to figure out how to score a hit.

I find it so amazing that we can all play with so many different configs and it all seems to work together so well. -For the most part.
