HELP! I can't get on the ville anymore...

I was trying to get on late last night and just now, tuesday evening, and when i get to the point where it is loading the aville sprite my connection times out. then if i try to connect again i will still be connected to the ville server, however i don't have the disconnect option on the lil list. i've tried restarting TFC and rebooting my comp. they don't work...also i have tried other servers and i have no problem getting on them...any ideas?

You have no problems connecting to any other server?

I have never seen the problem your describing, but I seem to recall a post about it in the forums before. I will do a search later to see if I can find you an answer.

Only thought that comes to mind, I dont know if the avantiville sprite is stored on your pc or not, but if it is perhaps its corrupted. Make a note of the filename, check your PC for it, and delete it so it will download a new one.

The only thing I can think of is that you have downloads turned off. Go to your config.cfg file located in you TFC directory and make sure these values match the following:

cl_allowdownload "1"
cl_allowupload "1"

If this was set at zero it would stop any files, including theville sprite from being downloaded from the server.

well i deleted the ville sprite file. i guess i will see if that works. also i am able to connect to other servers just fine, and my download and upload is turned on.

don't know if this matters any but before this problem happened with connecting to the ville i had a minor problem with connecting to any server on the first time. when i would start up TFC and almost everytime when i tried to join a game the connection would time out on the 1st attempt. then after that 1st timeout it would be fine and not timeout after that. probably totally unrelated, but just throwing it out there...
